Starters
Anthony Allen – Point Guard
Allen is a lightning-quick point guard that’s slowly learning how to make good things happen with the ball in his hands. He can score on all three levels and is quite the defender on the ball with his strength and speed. He’ll be an underrated senior prospect to watch on this squad.
Omarion Bodrick – Forward
Bodrick is a forward with length in the rotation at 6-foot-7. He runs the floor well and can score from anywhere on the hardwood already despite being just a junior. He protects the rim well and can rebound and lead the break himself. He’ll be another player to watch for this squad.
Nygell Verdier – Guard/Wing
Verdier is a versatile prospect at 6-foot-4 that can play inside and out with his solid frame. He can defend multiple positions on the floor and score from all three levels on offense as well. He gives the Patriots quite the third option to have with his abilities. He’s another senior on this rotation that should turn heads with his play.
Jalen Hinton – Guard
Hinton is a new addition from Butler High School but he should add to their backcourt with his ability to operate off the dribble and shoot the ball off the catch. He’s a 2021 prospect that should contribute.
De’drick Givens – Forward
Givens is a senior forward that plays hard and with toughness in the paint. He does a lot of the little things well like take charges and crash the offensive boards. He’ll be an energy guy in the rotation that should set the tone early for the,
Reserves
Camren Little – Forward/Wing
Little can stretch the floor with his size at 6-foot-2 and also has the ability to shoot the 3-pointer, making him quite a versatile threat on offense. He’ll be a junior prospect to keep an eye on off the bench.
Landon King – Guard
King brings shooting and spacing to an already stacked lineup. He showed off his ability to catch and shoot from the perimeter at this past weekend’s Jamboree.
Tachai Miller- Guard
Miller is another player in the 2021 class that should see time at the backcourt, particularly at the point guard position. He’ll be looked upon to run the offense when Allen needs a breather.
Key Dates
11/19 @ North Mecklenburg
The Patriots open the season on the road at North Mecklenburg, an early state title favorite at the 4A level. With Tristan Maxwell and Trayden Williams leading the way, it can’t get any better for them in terms of an early challenge.
11/30 Concord First Assembly
It’ll be the fifth game of the season but it comes against a number of Division 1 prospects heading to the play at the next level in Garrett Hien, Cheick Troare and Trae Benham. It’ll be another solid challenge for the Patriots though in the Charlotte Hoops Challenge.
1/4 Henderson Collegiate (HoopCities Invitational)
On January 4, the Patriots will host a neutral site game against the Henderson Collegiate Pride in what should be another good challenge for them. The Pride aren’t the biggest team but they make up for it in their scrappy style of play.
