Game 1: Loogootee vs Clarksville
This game started off the morning and for the most part, was not a close one at all. Loogootee pretty much dominated from the opening tip. Silas Bauer had yet another impressive game with dropping 17 points and adding 8 rebounds. His team as whole shot a fantastic 56% and had impressive showings from Jordan Wildman (15 points), and Peyton Bledsoe and Landon Harder each with 6 points. The leading man for Clarksville was Keyshawn Minor (9 points, 8 rebounds).Loogootee easily won 53-38. With the Loogootee win, they moved onto the championship game that took place later that evening.
Game 2: Southwestern-Hanover vs Rock Creek Academy
This was not much of a game at all. The final of this one saw SW Hanover beat the breaks off Rock Creek 75-51. SW Hanover had 2 players scoring in the 20’s with stretch forward Matthew Williams dropping 25 and guard Austin Kramer dropping 21. Rock Creek also had two players in double figures in both guard Ladarius Wallace (14 points) and forward Jonathon Browning (19 points). SW Hanover showed that they can shoot the ball very well. With SW Hanover moving onto the Championship round, Rock Creek went onto to face Clarksville in the consolation round.
Championship: Loogootee vs Southwestern-Hanover
This was a game of a physical, hard-nose team taking on a team full of confident shooters. It turned out to be the more physical team waling away with the championship as the Loogootee Lions defeated the SW Hanover Rebels 76-64. A close game throughout, the Rebels just did not have enough to get over the hump.It was an interesting matchup to see Silas Bauer go up against Mathew Williams as both play such different styles. This is the 8th time that Loogootee has won the Tip-Off Classic and now move to 3-0 to start off the season. Both of these teams are really good and both should be one of the best teams in 1A and 2A.
