Prep Hoops took a trip down to the Holy City of Charleston for the Riptide Classic. The event is being played in downtown Charleston at Charleston Math & Science right off King Street. Lets take a quick look at the recap of games from Saturday. 

Jacpb Schar

Academic Magnet came out on fire and never looked back in beating Charleston Collegiate 68-33. The Raptors had 11 players on the scoring column. Jacob Schar led the Raptors with 13 points in the lopsided win. 

The Sun Devils of Charleston Collegiate are back after a 2 year hiatus. The Sun Devils a SCISA Class 1A program were led in scoring by RJ Rock and Darius Singletary with 11 points apiece.  Rock and Singletary both attended Stall HS last season. 

Dionte Williams

Charleston Math & Science knocked off Pinewood Prep 56-44. Dionte Williams (2020) led the way for the Riptide with 22 points while Tyrin Dixon (2021) added 10 points. All-State guard Wendell Seabrook directed the offense all day long with his crisp passes finished with 8 points.

Gaskins scored 34 points on the opening night and went over 1,00- career points. Gaskins now has 1,035 career points.  Heston Foster Northwood Academy pulled away from a scrappy Philip Simmons team to win 78-59. Caleb Houston (2021) led the Chargers with 34 points. Heston Foster (2022) a Cathedral Academy transfer added 17 points in the win.  Marc Haight Jaylen Green (2020) led the Iron Horses with 17 points in the defeat. Marc Haight a left-handed guard chipped in with 12 points.   Tobias Lafayette The final game of the day featured Porter Gaud defeating Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach 58-47. Mason Grant (2021) a Fort Dorchester HS Transfer led the Cyclones with 19 points while senior point guard Tobias Lafayette added 10 points. Hampden Sydney College (VA) signee Chase Cannon added 9 points in the win.  Seth DeBruhl Lawton Fulford (2021) had the hot hand for the Saints with 27 points today. Fulford added 6 three pointers today while Seth DeBruhl chipped in with 11 points. The Saints fall to (1-1) on the season.
