After having only two players earn D1 scholarships last season, 4 players signed there NLI. Two more, Anthony Hunter and M’Wani Wilkinson will also be signing somewhere. I think it’s important for coaches and parents to remember that it’s not just D1’s that give scholarships. In addition to the players I mentioned, several other players are receiving strong interest from D2, D3 and NAIA schools. They include:
John Fox 6’6 C Sierra Vista 2020 (#61 2020) – The big man from Sierra Vista is gaining momentum. He’s received a ton of interest from D2 schools and currently holds offers from several D3’s and NAIA’s including Houghton college, Penn State Beaver College, and Ottawa.
Cade Savell 6’5 SF Desert Oasis 2020 (#24 2020) – Savell may be one of the most sought after high academic players in the land. The DO athlete currently has interest from a ton of D2’s and D3’s interested in his brain almost as much as his skill. He holds an offer from D3 Hiram University in Ohio.
Harlan Nichols 6’5 PF Palo Verde 2020 (#36 2020) – Nichols has a chance to be a stock riser this season. Film don’t lie. Turn on the film and watch Nichols and you will see a max effort player with a terrific skill set. Gaining momentum with a ton of D2’s and D3’s he currently holds an offer from Occidental College.
Braden Lamar 6’5 SG Bishop Gorman 2020 (#10 2020) – Lamar is the tweener of the recruiting trail this season. He hovers in between, low major D1 and a highly sought after D2, NAIA player. I honestly feel like if he has the chance to be an All-Conference player for the right program.
Nicholas Attanasio 6’3 SG Faith Lutheran 2020 (#49 2020) – Attanasio is one of the top shooters in the state. The lefty has perhaps the best shot prep of any player I’ve seen this season. Another high academic player that is receiving interest from a ton of programs, Attanasio currently holds an offer from Berry University.
Kendall Burrell 5’10 PG Bonanza 2020 (#35 2020) – One of the most electric scorers in the state, has a terrific opportunity to play at the next level. Burrell currently is receiving strong interest from Hiram university in Ohio.
Mason Whittaker 6’5 SG Spanish Springs 2020 – Whittaker has an opportunity to really make a name for himself this season. Could wind up being anywhere from a low major to a highly sought after D2 prospect. His size and skill set make him intriguing. Currently, he has received interest from Whitman, and Linfield College.
