Braelon Bush 5’8 PG / Silsbee HS / 2020 PHTX150
Braelon is a shifty point guard that is lightning quick with the rock in his hand. He can shoot the long ball and I’m talking NBA range. He can also dunk the ball, yes a 5’8 guard with bunnies. He has been putting up big numbers all season long and on this day he did the same thing. Finished with 31 points, dished out 3 assists, grabbed 2 rebounds, swatted 1 shot, and came away with 1 steal. He shot 12/15 from the field, went 3/10 from deep, and 4/5 from the charity stripe.
Tramon Mark 6’6 SG / Dickinson HS / 2020 [Houston] PHTX150
Tramon has been putting up big numbers since his sophomore season of high school. He is a University of Houston commit. He is long and athletic. Has a great motor. Point guard skill set that can score from anywhere on the floor. He also gets after it on the defensive end of the ball as well. Finished with 30 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, came away with 3 steals, and rejected 2 shots. He shot 11/19 from the field, 2/5 from behind the arc, and went 6/10 from the foul line.
Tre White 6’5 SF / Cornerstone Christian Academy / 2022 [Kansas]
Tre is a smooth wing that has a big-time motor. Guard like skills with great strength. Controls the flow of the offense and is a solid defender as well, as he isn’t afraid to challenge anything at the rim. He scores the ball so easily. This young sophomore is currently committed to Kansas University. He finished with 27 points, brought down 9 rebounds, had 4 steals, dished out 3 assists, and had a nice pin for his 1 block at the rim. He shot 11/12 from the floor, went 2/2 from deep, and netted 3/3 of his charity shots.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. 6’6 PF / Port Arthur Memorial HS / 2020 [Louisiana Tech] PHTX150
Junior is one of the most skilled bigs that I have ever seen on this level. He is very polished on the low and high block on the offensive side of the ball, and he guards the post tough defensively. Don’t let his size fool you because he can stretch out the floor and possibly in college at Lousiana Tech as a stretch four or a combo forward. Great handles with crafty passes. He also cleans house on the glass. He finished with 29 points, grabbed 20 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, had 3 blocks, and came away with 1 steal. He shot 12/21 from the floor, 3/4 from behind the arc, and shot 2/7 from the charity stripe.
Jerrell Colbert 6’10 C / Cornerstone Christian Academy / 2021 PHTX75
Jerrell is starting to turn the corner a bit in within his skill set for his size and in his class. He is more physical on the floor. He is able to finish better around the rim. He is dunking almost everything. Plays with a ton of energy and has a presence in the paint as a rim protector and a big-time rebounder. He finished with 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had 2 blocked shots. He shot 8/13 from the floor, went 0/1 from deep, and shot 4/5 from the foul line.
Jonathan Massie 6’3 SG / St. Thomas Catholic / 2021 PHTX75
John-John has been a big-ticket for st. Thomas Catholic this season. He has been putting up tremendous numbers and this move to this school was a big win for him and his family as he is able to showcase more of his game as the main guy. controls the tempo of the game. He is shooting the ball exceptionally well and taking the right shots and even knocking down some tough shots. He gets in there and crashes the boards on the defensive end. Went coast to coast on a couple of possessions. Finished with 26 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and came away with 2 blocked shots. He shot 9/17 from the floor, went 2/4 from behind the arc, and netted 6/11 free throw shots.
Rommell Williams 6’2 PG / Katy Mayde Creek HS / 2020 [Midwestern State] PHTX150
Mel is a lead guard that could play off-ball as well for Midwestern State next year. He is a fundamentally skilled player that keeps in north and south at all times when attacking. He can score at all levels and he gets his teammates involved in the game. High energy guy that holds his teammates accountable and picks up their slack as well. He was big-time in their victory over Houston Christian. He finished with 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist and steal. He shot 7/11 from the floor, netted 2/4 from behind the arc, and went 4/5 from the charity stripe.
Kenyon Holcombe 6’7 F / Concordia Lutheran / 2020
Kenyon has had a really big summer for RL9 Academy and has transitioned that over to his new team. Like Massie this was a great move for the 6’7 F as well. He plays with a great motor. He is more of a combo forward. He can be utilized down low but loves to play on the perimeter. He is a solid three-point shooter and crashes the glass. He finished with 12 points and brought down 16 rebounds. He shot 4/10 from the field and went 4/8 from behind the arc.
