This game was a constant back and forth battle. Lewisville would go on a nice run of 6 and then Cypress Creek would come back to go on a run of 8 straight buckets. The game was very thrilling and both teams came to compete. In the first half, it was they George vs Richards show as they both were the leaders for their teams mentally and scoring the rock. In the second half of the game, the seesaw battle continued on but the free-throw woes started to set in for the Fighting Farmers late in the game. The fourth and final quarter came down to a great defensive effort by the Cougars as they capitalized off of every single turnover and took care of the pill on their possessions.
1Q | 2Q | 3Q | 4Q | FINAL | |
Lewisville Fighting Farmers | 13 | 23 | 19 | 18 | 73 |
Cypress Creek Cougars | 14 | 21 | 20 | 23 | 78 |
Keyonte George 6’5 SG / Lewisville / So. PHTX25
George is a very skilled two that played solid on both sides of the ball this game. He is normally a known offensive threat but he displayed some really solid on-ball defense. Had multiple tipped passes and forced a couple of turnovers. He shot the ball really well the entire game. Plays with a big-time motor. There is certainly no question as to why he is a top 5 prospect in the state of Texas and a nationally known prospect. He finished with 33 points, 4 steals, and 4assists. He was 4/9-3PT and 9/12-FT.
KJ Pruitt 6’4 SG / Lewisville / Sr. PHTX150
KJ couldn’t get his shot to fall in this game, so he decided to impact it in different ways. He runs the point a lot for his team and was able to create off the dribble drive for his teammates. He also played solid on-ball with quick lateral movements. He was the vocal leader on the floor as well. He currently holds 5 NCAA D1 offers on the table. Finished the game with 9 points and 5 steals in the game.
DJ Richards 6’4 SG / Cypress Creek / Jr. PHTX75
DJ was a shot creator for himself and his teammates. He is a long guard that plays with a sense of urgency to his game. He has high court awareness and makes a lot of long passes right on the dime as he hits his teammates in stride. He is a known three-point specialist for his team, but he has been playing really solid as an overall player in these first couple of games for the cougars. He has one NCAA D1 offer as a junior. Finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 5 assists in the game.
Chas Kelley 6’4 CG / Cypress Creek / Jr.
Chas had a really impressive summer as he grew 3-4 inches and has added ball speed. He can play the point or off the ball as a two-guard. Good in catch and shoot situations and can create for himself and others. Has a long wingspan and is solid on-ball defensively. He currently doesn’t have any offers at this time and is a prospect that coaches should definitely have on their radar. Finished with 23 points in the game and also had 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
Ed Trahan 6’5 PF / Cypress Creek / Sr. PHTX150
Ed is a tough physical forward that can finish at a high rate around the basket. Has the ability to put the ball on the ground and score from the wing, but has a better presence on the low and high block than short-corner and wing. He is athletic and uses that with his strength to clean up on the glass. He currently doesn’t hold any offers but would be a great addition to an NAIA/D3 school in need of a power forward. Finished the game with a slight double-double as he put up 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
