Darius Gakwasi (2021 Central Catholic)
Gakwasi had a solid PT40, making plays when he had the ball and finishing some baskets near the rim. The 6-foot-5 wing pretty much took what the defense gave him, knocking down some open perimeter shots and creating a bit off of the dribble. He was always a threat to start in transition after pulling down the defensive board.
Brian Goracke (2020 Churchill)
Goracke wasn’t as impressive as we have seen him in previous outings, but the truth of the matter is he was likely tired from coming to the event directly from an official visit to Seattle. The almost 6-foot-6 wing looked like he had some energy in warmups with some impressive dunks and in game play hit some jumpers and was solid from the free throw line.
Evan Inglesby (2020 Barlow)
Another solid all-around player, Inglesby didn’t necessarily set the world on fire with anything but played within the flow of the game. He converted on a few buckets when given the opportunity, helped out on the defensive glass, and did a good job of taking care of the basketball when he had it.
Erik Fraser (2020 Grant)
Fraser couldn’t quite get the shot going when he had his opportunities but didn’t do anything that cost his team in a negative way. It can be hard for a player like him to really shine in this environment but we expect him to have a big year at Grant.
Kyle Gruhler (2020 Skyview-WA)
Gruhler got off to a hot start with 10 points in the first game as he was knocking down threes and taking the ball strong to the hole. He was also a monster on the boards, pulling down seven in the time he was on the court. It was a bit quieter after that but he still ended up one of the top scorers/rebounders in the event.
Nate Meithof (2021 McNary)
In all honesty, Meithof didn’t really get too much of an opportunity to show what he can do as he didn’t get many touches when he was in the game. He did measure out at almost 6-foot-5 and with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, which is outstanding for a wing. He did finish strong with five points, including a three, in his last game.
