Joe Juhala (2020 West Linn)
We continue to emphasize that Juhala is one of the biggest guys in the state and at the event he measured out to 6-foot-7 1/2 and 224 pounds. He largely faced the basket but attacked the basket when given the opportunity and also knocked down a couple of perimeter shots. Juhala also continues to show improvement as a rebounder, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Dane Erikstrup (2021 Beaverton)
Erikstrup continues to emerge as one of the state’s top big men in the Class of 2021. At the PT40, he ran the floor well, posted up strong, showed off some good footwork and finished plays near the basket with both hands. He’s continuing to improve on taking his time and getting the bucket on the first shot.
Trace Salton (2021 Lake Oswego)
Salton showed some great aggressiveness in getting to the basket. He used his 6-foot-5, 208-pound frame to physically create space off the dribble and he also knocked down some mid-range jumpers. We have no doubts Salton will be a force for Lake Oswego this season.
Luke Johnson (2022 Central Catholic)
Johnson was one of the latest invitees to the Prime Time Top 40 after being cleared from football and the young forward showed some potential. Measuring out at 6-foot-7, 192 pounds, he ran the floor well in transition which put him in position to catch and convert some easy dunks. In the last game of the day he scored eight points.
Mason VanBeenen (2022 West Linn)
VanBeenen was one of the top performers at the PrepHoops Top 250 Expo this fall. While the 6-foot-8, 173-pound forward didn’t make as much of an impression at the PT40, the truth was he really didn’t get many touches. When he did, VanBeenen looked to attack off the dribble when given an opening and in general he played hard.
