Kyle Watkins (2021) – Carolina Forest HS (pictured on the front)
Watkins a point guard is the best Underclassmen in the Region this season. Watkins averaged 12.2 ppg, 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists last season for the Panthers. Watkins 6’0 is currently playing wide receiver for the Panthers football team.
Grant WarrenGrant Warren (2021) – Carolina Forest HS
Warren is a spot up shooter who can really dial up from long range. Warren averaged 5.5 ppg last season while connecting on 36% (36-99) from three point range.
Jeremiah NesbittJeremiah Nesbitt (2021) – St James HS (Murrells Inlet)
Nesbitt will be I nthe backcourt for the Sharks this season. Nesbitt played with Lewis and Warren on the same Grassroots program last summer. Nesbitt can connect on open shots and has a good feel for the game.
Travis CooperTravis Cooper (2021) – West Florence HS
Cooper could have a breakout season for the Knights this season. Cooper 6’4 is athletic forward who played off the grid with the Carolina Dream Team last summer. Cooper likes to excel in the transition game and look for that 5.7 ppg average to move up this coming season.
Mikah NelsonMikah Nelson (2022) – Carolina Forest HS
Nelson saw good minutes as a freshman last season for the Panthers. Nelson likes to play inside-out at times and averaged 3.8 ppg and 3.5 rebounds last season.
Carlton Terry Jr.Carlton Terry Jr. (2022) – Conway HS
Terry Jr. is the Quarterback of the football team as a sophomore. Terry Jr. plays for his father on the gridiron. Terry Jr. a quick guard should settle into the starting lineup this season for Head Coach Mike Hopkins and the Tigers.
EJ HuffmanEJ Huffman (2022) – Conway HS
Huffman looks to be out for the season with a injury from what I was told. Huffman 6’4 really started to turn it up this summer o nthe Grassroots Circuit with Team Wall Southeast 2022. Huffman plays the game very aggressive on both ends of the floor and is very active on the glass.
Merel BurgessMerel Burgess (2023) – South Florence HS
Prep Hoops first saw Burgess this summer in the NCAA Evaluation Camp in Columbia with the Bruins. Burgess a left-handed forward didn’t play timid at all for his age. Burgess has a soft touch around the cup and even had the ability to step-out from 12-14 feet. Burgess should compliment the seniors on this Bruins roster quite nicely this season. Burgess will be the future of this Bruins program down the road being just a freshman this season.
