Our series will take a look at the best teams in the state for each class with our rankings. Starting at #50 and going to #1, we will look at each class ranking across all classes starting now with #4.
1A #4: Christian Academy
The Warriors are heading into this season coming off a 16-8 record and tough Sectional loss to Lanesville. The team that they have coming back is a very mature squad. This team will likely be ran by the three incoming senior prospects: Bailey and Nick Conrad, and T.J. Proctor. This might be one of the best senior classes in the whole state of Indiana. There will likely be very few mistakes that will be made just because of the maturity of this team. Looking at their schedule, this team may be tested at times but expect Christian Academy to have a fantastic season.
2A #4: Linton-Stockton
The Miners are coming into this new year off a 27-4 season and were just 6 points away from winning State. This team will be looking to avenge their loss and will be led by top prospect Lincoln Hale. Hale has a wide range of skills and is a great shooter when he is able to get a shot off. Even though Linton-Stockton’s season ended in such heartbreak, this is a team that will be up for the challenge of making it back to the State Finals. Expect Hale and Coach Joey Hart to again have this team ready to go and look to win their first State Championship in school history.
3A #4: Greensburg
The Pirates of Greensburg are coming off a fantastic 24-2 season. They may lose an awesome player in Drew Comer, but this year’s team has lots of talented prospects to make up for it. They will be led by top 2020 small forward prospect Andrew Welage (16.4 ppg) and top 2021 point guard prospect Lane Sparks (14. 9 ppg). Also look for senior Miles Wilkison (10.0 ppg) to be a great contributor as well. This team may have lost quite a bit of seniors but expect some good JV players to step-up. With a fairly easy regular season and Sectional, expect them to be favorite to potentially make it to the 3A State Finals.
4A #4: Culver Academies
The Eagles head into this season coming off a 24-4 record but with a tough loss to Silver Creek in the State Finals. The team, however, brings back a very talented player combo. That player combo is shooting guard Trey Galloway and center Nick Hittle. Look for forward Deontae Craig to have a breakout season as well. Along with the talent around them, this may be the best guard-center duo in the state. This is a big, strong team that is going to give other teams lots of fits. Galloway and Hittle will be looking to lead the Eagles to the State Finals and go out as Champions.
