Jayvon Maughmer (2020) | 6-5 SG | Chillicothe
Chillicothe’s senior trio of Maughmer, 6-foot-8 post Brandon Noel, and point guard Tre Beard is a formidable group. They went into the last year’s playoffs as the no. 14 seed in the Central Ohio region, before meeting their fate against no. 12 Walnut Ridge in just their first game. Those seniors, however, showed gains this summer and should make a stronger postseason appearance in 2020.
As for Maughmer, the smooth swingman averaged 15 points as a junior. His instincts, ball-handling, and ability to score it in a number of ways makes him a perfect guy to run the offense through. The Cedarville commit also provides defensive versatility and rebounding.
Kobe Mitchell (2021) | G | Harrison Central
Mitchell placed Second Team All-State last year averaging 25.5 points per game. The two-sport star can be seen on this highlight tape getting anywhere he pleases on the court. The dominant scorer displays a smooth, compact shooting stroke that he’s comfortable hitting off the dribble. As a slasher, Mitchell looks to play at a controlled pace as he disregards opponents in traffic.
Luke Powell (2020) | 6-3 G | Barnesville
Powell, a West Liberty signee, reached Second Team All-Ohio last year averaging 30.0 points per game. The lengthy guard has a near-perfect shooting stroke that he can drill with his feet set or in motion. Very efficient scorer who needs just one or two dribbles to create a shot. Powell also possesses the ball-handling ability to run point guard. Plays with great effort.
Cameron Evans (2020) | 5-11 PG | Zane Trace
Evans tore it up last year at Zane Trace, averaging 25.3 points per game. He figures to replicate that sort of production in his final season. He’s a thick point guard who uses strength and poise in the lane to score in traffic. Shows good creativity and touch when finishing over taller players. His strength is hard to contain on straight-line-drives.
AJ Clayton (2022) | 6-7 PF | Philo
Clayton figures to put up monster scoring and rebounding numbers throughout his Philo career. He’s a solid 6-foot-7 forward with an inside and outside scoring game. While he will mostly punish mismatches with his back to the basket, Clayton is also an improving 3-point shooter. He comes into his sophomore year with an Ohio offer.
