Today we unveil prospects #46 – #50!
#46 Ola Ajiboye (Von Steuben – 2021)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Ajiboye is one of the more intriguing power forwards in the junior class. Rangy four man that runs the floor with ease. His biggest asset right now is his defensive prowess. Blocks shots with the best of them covering lots of ground and can switch on to guards moving his feet. Offensively he is a rim runner in transition, has a soft touch around the hoop, and can hit from 15 feet on a face up jumper.
#47 Will Wolfe (Oswego East – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Wolfe is a skilled small forward that is super productive game in and game out. He has a gritty game which allows him to finish inside, but his strength is his pull up game from mid-range. Excellent shooter from 15-18 feet and can stretch it out to three on occasion as well. Solid athlete and the type of kid you want in your program!
#48 Darius Burford (Bolingbrook – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Burford is headed to Elon to play his college basketball. The Bolingbrook combo guard will be the next in a long line of guards for Rob Brost and the Raiders. Athleticism and his ability to play both on and off the ball are his biggest strengths. Attacks downhill with force where he finishes with acrobatics at the cup. Showed flashes as a passer with Team Rose.
#49 Christian Shumate (Bloom – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
Shumate is the best dunker in the state and might be the top pure athlete. The 6’6” combo forward is a high flyer that throws down thunderous slams and swats shots out of nowhere. High energy player that gets on the boards and is active defensively. How much progression his jumper makes will determine how good he will be long term.
#50 Destin Whitaker (Romeoville – 2020)
Last Year’s Rank: NR
This Fresno State commit gets the last spot on our list! Whitaker is a two guard that can let it fly from deep! Quality wing scorer that knocks down shots and can defend on the other side of the court. Was a solid role player for Meanstreets in the Nike EYBL. Primed for a big senior season!
