Parkway South: The Patriots won all three of their games during the event and played some solid basketball. They have an excellent outside-inside duo in 6’3″ 2020 guard Adam Sommer and 6’9″ 2020 forward Isaish Esker. Sommer dominated the action throughout the Jamboree with his scoring and ability to make plays for his teammates. Esker is a big physical post who can score inside. Stepping into more bigger roles this season are 2020 guard Jack Crayton, who can shoot the ball and 2020 guard Luke Davis, who is a solid ball handler and passer.
Hillsboro: The Hawks were up and down during the Jamboree, but they are primed for a big season with several top players back from a district championship team. The leader of the team is 5’9″ 2020 point guard Mark Moore, who can run the offense, knock down 3-pointers and dart into the passing lanes for steals. Also on the perimeter are solid 6’2″ 2020 guard Ethan Worley and 6’3″ 2021 guard Zach Whaley. Holding things down inside are versatile 6’7″ 2020 forward Evan Worley, who can score inside and knock down 3-pointers.
Whitfield: The Warriors had one of the youngest teams in the Jamboree and they showed that the future is bright. They have a couple of good 2021 wings in 6’3″ Eddie Simon and 6’2″ Isaiah Alexander. A good group of freshmen who showed well are point guards Jorden Williams, Nolan Simon and wing Nick Lewis. Sitting things out with injuries last night were junior guards Max Holton and Drew Newlin, who were starters last season. The Warriors are small and they will play fast.
Oakville: The host Tigers played hard and with a lot of enthusiasm. Their top returning players are 6’4″ 2020 forward Joe Beardsley and 6’0″ 2020 guard James Whitman. Beardsley is a solid forward who can do a little bit of everything while Whitman can handle the ball and make shots. 2021 guard Drew Elza showcased some nice offensive skills while 6’8″ 2021 Joe Ware is an improving young post player with length and shot-blocking ability.
