We went to events, showcases, and tournaments to add more to the list and now with us being a few weeks away from the season and our newest list, we will be providing one more update prior to the season. There are plenty of players that stood out and are being added to the list so without further ado, here are some players that if they make a jump will have their respective teams in winning situations. Here are standout wings ready to be added to the list.
Nate Gravagno — Englewood
Gravagno is a player that put up some incredible numbers as a sophomore. He put up 17 points a game and had the green light to let it go when he wanted. He also helped in the rebounding department and showed that he could play on and off of the ball. Now only he has to make those numbers do something meaningful for wins. He is going to have to lead an inexperienced bunch and this will be a season about teaching.
Michael Wolf – Regis
Wolf is more so of a shooting guard with his ability to consistently knock down shot after shot but he can also step out if he has to and with other good passing guards is where he excels so he plays off-ball as well. He is one of the best shooters that the state has and he is not afraid to let it fly. He shoots it as well as anybody as I have seen on the move so setting screens and setting up offense makes it difficult for defenders. He is a fierce competitor that plays up to the competition and also can score inside with a pure jump-shot. He will head to the bottom and make his way up but he is unarguably one of the most underrated players we have and this is the year that he shows it.
Vincas Veikalas – Overland
Veikalas is one of the most difficult players to rank in the state as he comes in from Las Vegas because while we have only seen him play this summer – it is against the top competition and it has been incredible. He is a do-it-all type of player and that is why I am so high on him and will have him ranked accordingly. He rebounds well, controls the pace, scores inside with his body and has good size, gets to the free-throw line and also makes simple reads and passes. I am extremely high on Veikalas as one of the state’s best players and this is a season that could not start quick enough.
Eddie Speller – Lewis-Palmer
With so many talented players that Lewis-Palmer had last season as one of the best team’s that I have seen in the state in the past few seasons it was easy to overlook Speller but make no mistake about it he is a player that is ready to step up and prove that he belongs. He had a few games last season where there were glimpses of how good he could be and will try and build off of that. He scores inside and works well as a slasher. He can defend multiple positions and will continue to build but for now, will start at the bottom.
Chance Hausman – Cherry Creek
Hausman is a player that I have finally gotten around to see and I enjoy his game. A lot of what he does goes unnoticed and when he has the ball in his hands he is dangerous as a playmaker. He can score in multiple ways and his ability to both shoot it with a man in his face as well as get to the rim and finish with either hand. He can also put the ball on the floor which makes him even more difficult to guard. He is a player that plays with extreme confidence when he has the ball in his hands and if he has the freedom to score when he wants he will help the Bruins tremendously this upcoming season.
