We went to events, showcases and tournaments to add more to the list and now with us being a few weeks away from the season and our newest list, we will be providing one more update prior to the season. There are plenty of players that stood out and are being added to the list so without further ado, here are some players that if they make a jump will have their respective teams in winning situations. Here are standout bigs ready to be added to the list.
Ryan Ure – Eaton
Ure is a player out of Eaton and that is one of the only reasons that he has not been discussed more. He is a big-time player that is not afraid of the moment and he is going to consistently give high energy while being ultra-aggressive on the boards. He is a glass cleaner that uses his body and makes it difficult for others to cone get boards. He gets rebounds and goes straight up and has a soft touch around the rim. He will have to continue that if he wants to rise in our rankings but he belongs. I am sure he will raise that 8.8 points and 10 rebounds a game and average a double-double for the season.
Greg Gerhardt – Monarch
Gebhardt is a player that has jumped on the scene and not looked back. He is legit 6’10 and uses every inch of his long frame on both sides of the court. He can go inside and score, he has a decent mid-range game which makes it difficult to be guarded and while he is a capable scorer the best part of his game is on the defensive end where he uses his length to get countless blocks. He is a rim protector who moves well and can guard smaller defenders. He is a player that should be on a ton more radars and it has been great to see him shine over this summer. He is deserving to jump right into the middle of the pack, maybe even higher on our newest rankings.
Cooper McBride – Douglas County
McBride is going to be a player that is going to give teams fits this season. He is a big man that is able to truly space the floor and moves really well. He is a mobile big man that can put the ball on the floor, step out on the perimeter and shoot it as well as have his way inside. He is a high IQ offensive weapon that is a mismatch with his ability to score in multiple ways. He is a versatile big that can play 3-5 and this is a season that I feel he will make his name as one of the players that should not have been slept on so long. He is a player.
Shawn Temple – Douglas County
Temple is another player over at Douglas County that will surprise this upcoming season. He is 6’8 and uses his size and will be able to work alongside McBride to throw teams off. He is a traditional big man that runs the floor, protects the paint, has a developing back to the basket game and plays with great energy. He is a bit raw but with his size is a player that when it finally clicks he is going to be a terror. Watch out for him and for now we will start him out at the bottom with room to grow.
