Newly Ranked: 2020 Game-Changers
We have roughly 110 ranked players in the class of 2020 that we have gotten to watch and assess prior to this summer. But with a big summer where we made sure to get out to as many events as we could as well as finishing off the year we are adding to that list. We are a few more weeks away from the season and will be providing one more rankings update within that time. We conclude the 2020 list of players that will jump onto our rankings with a list of players that’s play goes a bit unnoticed but goes a long way. It is not to say that there will not be a few players that emerge onto the 2020 list but here are a few more that have made the jump.
RaSheik Gaddis – Northfield
Gaddis is a player that I learned about this summer but I saw him at almost every showcase and he epitomizes control. He plays with a pace of his own and he can either go and get his own or run the offense to perfection. It will be interesting to see him this year as I feel that that Northfield team can truly shock a few teams with their depth. He can shoot, he gets to the lane with his strength and he holds his own defensively. Confidence is starting to rise and that is a bonus. He’s a player to add to the list.
Jaedn Harrison – Cheyenne Mountain
Harrison had a great summer with Boykins Elite as he showcased that he is a solid off-ball wing that can also switch it up and play guard at times. He helps board, he slashes and is full of energy. He is a jolt of energy as soon as he is in the game and gives his all which will go well with a Cheyenne Mountain team that will be one of the favorites this season. He finds gaps in the defense, rebounds well and goes right up with it and when needed can score. He will score plenty of baskets this season with much of the defense’s attention on Javonte Johnson Javonte Johnson 6'6" | CG Cheyenne Mountain | 2020 State #147 Nation CO , just have to see if he is ready to take an even bigger leap to ensure more wins.
Giles Schmid – Boulder
Schmid is a smooth lefty that took over when he needed to. He was on a pretty good Boulder team that played together and brought their best on any given night and he calmed the storm although it went overlooked. He does all of the little things such as boxing out, keeping plays alive with a few more rebounds, diving for loose balls and also finding open spots in the defense to score. He passes well, defends and also is a high IQ player that moves without the ball. This season we should see more scoring.
Austin Robinson – Skyline
Robinson is a player that showed off that he could be a force down on the block. Every single night he was on the scouting report as a player to try and keep off of the boards and from having his way in the paint and he did just that – dominate inside and crash the boards. He put up an impressive 14.6 points and just under nine rebounds a game and made his presence felt, this year with more wins and same production it’ll be hard to go unnoticed. Bottom dweller but deserving to be recognized.
SF: McKinnon Walker – Classical Academy
Do not look now but Classical Academy is a team that will be tough to beat. They have a solid group of rebounders and guards and now one of their top scorers is returning for a big senior season. He put up 19 points a game last season as a player that was going to come out aggressive each time out. He did a bit of everything and showcased the ability to score in a variety of ways. This season with a year more of experience with this group this will be a year that those numbers mean just a bit more.
