Continue ReadingWe have roughly 110 ranked players in the class of 2020 that we have gotten to watch and assess prior to this summer. But with a big summer where we made sure to get out to as many events as we could as well as finishing off the year we are adding to that list. We are a few more weeks away from the season and will be providing one more rankings update within that time. There are plenty of players that stood out and are being added to the list so without further ado, here are some forwards and bigs that have made a case and will now join on the list.
Tommy Rau – Rock Canyon
We got to first see Rau at an expo last summer and he had himself quite a day that had us gushing about how solid that Rock Canyon team will be with him there. He has massive size but he can put the ball on the floor, he has court awareness and he is not afraid to bang with those big guys but he was unable to play last season. Now with a good bill of health and ready for a resurgence he returns for a huge year in which he will be able to prove himself. He is a big-time player. The only reason that he will be at the bottom of the list is because we haven’t seen it during the season but with his talent and also ability to take over know that he is a top-30 player in the class and I am sure that he is going to prove it. Small school should hurry up and get on him before it’s too late as he will surely be scooped up.
Gabe Brock – Sand Creek
Brock is an athlete that competes and does it all. He also patrols the paint like any other big that we have in the state as seen in him averaging two blocks a game a last season. He also put up 7.1 rebounds and made sure to keep plays alive as well. He is a player that I feel can very well average a double-double for the season and he should make that a goal for him. He moves well with his size and is imposing. He will go to the bottom of the list but he deserves to be around.
Pete Boyle – Boulder
Boyle is a big that I am placing in the rankings based off of potential and also his willingness to do everything that is asked of him. He is diving on the floor, he is battling in the post and he also can step out and drain the deep ball. We have gotten the opportunity to see him on the Colorado Titans team for years and while he does not score a ton of points, he does all of the right things to put the team in correct positions. He does a bit of everything as a role player that understands how to put his stamp in the game with his high IQ and is a prototypical stretch-4 that spaces the floor with his range despite being 6’7 or so.
Nahsyah Bolar – Northfield
Based on last season and this summer alone, Bolar is a player that has jumped on the scene and separated himself from the bunch. He will most definitely be jumping into the top-40 players in the class list and with what I am anticipating this year will surely rise. He has the size at 6’7 and uses it. His sized mixed with talent makes it difficult for defenders to maintain him and he is also active on the boards. He can score inside and has a few go-to moves that get him an easier baskets. He is a player that I truly feel with be more talked about this season and will be a player that plays at the next level. Big summer for him.
Turumbil Zaki – Denver South
Saki is a big man that has a high motor, runs the floor well and is not easily moved in the paint. He is 6’7 and fights for the position as a bruiser but also is very raw with the potential to be much more. At our expo, he stood out as a defender that made every player that he went up against fight for every basket. He controlled the paint and kept plays alive and in a conference with not much size to contain him I feel as if he can stand out. He also put the ball on the floor and had a couple of coast-to-coast finishes. He is at the bottom of the list but deserving of what is to come.
