Martell Williams 6’2 SG Silverado 2020 Last Season 22.9ppg – Williams is an electrifying scorer. He lead the state as a junior and uses a combination of slashing, knockdown shooting and post-ups. It might seem odd for a 6’2 player to score off post-ups, but Williams has a powerful frame that allows him to bully much taller players. He is an explosive leaper with the ability to finish in transition, and around the basket.
Dominque Ford 6’2 SG Desert Oasis 2020 Last Season 21.5ppg – Rest assured Ford is going to find a way to get his. Sometimes it’s in transition, sometimes it’s as simple as him putting his head down for straight-line drives. He’s underrated as an overall shooter. Last season he led the team in total 3’s made and shot %35 while doing it. The other area where he doesn’t get enough credit is his ability to rebound. Ford is great at plucking offensive rebounds off the glass and getting them back up.
Donavan Yap 6’2 SG Arbor View 2020 Last Season 15.2ppg – At first look, Yap’s 15 per game doesn’t look that spectacular. That is until you realize that he did that for a team that won 23 games and had 3 other players in double figures. Yap isn’t a looter. He saved some of his largest scoring outburst for the biggest games. He had 26 in a 5 point win over Centennial and finished with 29 in a heartbreaking 4 point loss to conference rival Faith Lutheran.
Kendall Burrell 5’10 PG Bonanza 2020 Last Season 19.1ppg – Burrell is the prototypical combo guard. He can get his on his own. He’s a lethal 3 point shooter that doesn’t care if he has to shoot it off the bounce or in catch and shoot action. Last year he was forced to carry the load for the Bengals. This year he has a little more help, so I’m anxious to see how that affects his scoring. I still expect him to have the ball in his hands a ton so don’t be surprised if he still averages nearly 20 per game.
Kade Madsen 6’2 SG Palo Verde 2020 13ppg – I’m sensing a trend. If you’re a 6’2 shooting guard in Vegas, then there is a good chance that you got buckets last year. Madsen is a high energy player that scores in a variety of ways. He’ll splash from 3, and dunk on you in transition. Madsen is one of the more efficient players in the state as he shot over %50 from the field and %37 from 3.
