Christian Henry (St. Rita – 2021)
Henry was the star of this game. The scoring point guard was going all Cole Anthony mode early in the game absolutely scoring at will ripping of 12 points in the first quarter alone. Henry was aggressive getting to the rim where he finished at will. Scored through contact with his strength. Burst with the ball especially in transition where he hits another gear when he sees an opening in the defense. Drilled one three. Couple nice passes including reads in the pick and roll. Has a chance to develop into a nice defender with his tenacity and instincts. Finished with 22 points.
Alec Millender (St. Rita – 2020 – Wayne State)
Millender is one of the more underappreciated lead guards in a strong group at that position in 2020. The Wayne State signee is a slick handling guard that has a feel for the game. Was most effective as the contest went on getting to the cup off the dribble where he finished with either hand at the rim. He had 12 points.
Connor Serven (St. Rita – 2020)
Serven is a big man that we didn’t get a chance to see this summer so we were looking forward to evaluating his development since last year. It was a quiet start for him, but he got it rolling in the second half. Good size and decent mobility. Rebounds well in his area. Works well in the pick/roll as a finisher. Went through his man several times for three point plays. Blocked several shots showing good timing. Went for 13 points.
Kaiden Space (St. Rita – 2023)
Space is a strong bodied guard that is a solid glue player for this year complimenting the three players above. Quality shooter that knocked down several on this way to 13 points.
Donovan Turner (Urban Prep Englewood – 2020)
Donovan Turner was probably the most intriguing prospect for Urban Prep. Good size, strength, and length. He displayed he is a capable shooter from both mid-range and three. Got to the line at a nice clip and plays with physicality. He had 10 points. Worth a look for small colleges.
Anthony Wells (Urban Prep Englewood – 2021)
Wells is a smaller point guard that has deep range on his three point shot. He drilled four of them from beyond the arc for his 12 points. Shot it with a ton of confidence every time he let it go!
