Village vs Word of God: This could develop into being one of the better games of the week as both of these teams feature multiple D1 prospects. WOG Senior Forward Isaiah Todd who has already committed to Michigan is the headline of course but his team also features young talent in 2022 Guards Khalil Marshall and Po King. VCA will look to their own college commit for leadership as Zavian Mclean comes into the season fresh off of his commitment to Columbia University. Mclean will not be alone however as Senior Wing Justin Thomas is another D1 prospect that we expect to have a big time season.
Henderson Collegiate vs Wesleyan Christian: It’s probably not out of line to say that Henderson Collegiate has played one of the toughest schedules so far as they already have matched up with Piedmont Classical and Moravian Prep. Although they came up short in both matchups, they have plenty of bright spots on their team which includes 2020 Queens Commit Kalib Matthews and 2021 Guard Javonte Waverly who has been raising his stock.
Greenfield School vs Raleigh Homeschool: The Knights will begin their quest to repeat as champions this season as they open up against RHS. Their roster features quite a few returning players from last season so the team shouldn’t have too much of an issue as far as chemistry goes. Look out for 2020 Guards Creighton Lebo and Dji Bailey to have big time seasons, as well as Forward Trey Pittman who has been outstanding over the last year.
Greensboro Day School vs Durham Academy: This matchup could have some fireworks as both of these squads feature high major talent and will be looking to add wins to their undefeated records. GDS is a loaded group as usual with the backcourt of 2020 Carson McCorkle and Cam Hayes looking to lead the way. While Durham Academy features a top 2022 national prospect in MJ Rice who has started the year off on a tear and will look to pull off an upset of one of the top teams in the state yearly.
Concord First Assembly vs Calvary Day School: This is another matchup that has a chance to be a really good one as both team feature a nice amount of talent. CFA is an older group with alot of their main contributors such as: Garret Hien, Ambaka Le Gregam and Cheick Traore all being seniors. While Calvary Day has a mixture of young and old talent that gets it done, one of the younger players to keep an eye on for CDS is 2022 Guard James Wilkins III.
