Home team Sunnyslope defeated Ironwood in the Finals tonight.
Here were some of the standout sophomores and freshman I viewed:
2022
Mike Dienes SF 6’6 Rancho Solano Prep
-A bigger wing forward with a sweet shooting stroke. He hit five 3’s in the game vs Moon Valley. He has a quick trigger and great size for position. He is a good rebounder and can get up on the break.
Oakland Fort PG 5’9 Sunnyslope
-Lightning quick pure PG can score it. He can nice court vision with a fast burst and great athleticism. He gets by his defender easily and looks to make plays off of it or pull-up from mid-range. Quick on-ball defender can be a ball hawk on defense. He is not afraid to mix it up inside to rebound the ball.

Jayden Warren SG 6’2 Sunnyslope
-Thick guard who loves getting downhill. He is a top-tier defender and will break out next year when Lino and Hayden graduate. He is super strong and loves contact. He uses his length and strength to defend. He is a capable 3pt shooter but he can improve his consistency.
Ahamed Mohamed PG 5’9 Apollo
-A slick scoring lead guard. He is very shifty with the ball and can get by his defender. He is a big time on-ball defender. Gets super low to the ground and has supreme lateral quickness. He makes good reads but is usually looking to score it. He is a super quick trigger off the catch and can pull-up off dribble from mid-range.
Sidney Wooten PG 5’9 Sunnyslope (pictured)
-Fast and skilled scoring lead guard. A good 3pt shooter and uses speed well in the open court. Quick on-ball defender and my first time seeing him, I came away impressed. His speed, skill and IQ will help the Vikings off the bench.
Jalin Humphrey PG 5’11 Chaparral
-Fast scoring point guard has good open court speed and a good pace to his game. He can hit perimeter jumpers and is a good passer. He is thin but uses his quickness well to get by his opponents.
2023
Noah Amenhauser PF 6’8 1/2 Estrella Foothills
-A bigger freshman who moves well with great length, size and strength. He has size 19 shoes and keeps growing seemingly every three months or so. It wouldn’t shock me if he was a legit footer. He has big hands and can actually handle the ball decently. Offensively he showed off a drop step and he is a good passer. He rebounds anything near him and smartly keeps the ball high and outlets.
Andrew Camacho SF/PG 6’0 Peoria
-Cerebral point forward type can play the PG spot as well. A very intelligent all-around player. Shoots 3’s off the catch and can drive the lane and find anyone on the court. He is already one of the best at taking charges on the varsity team and always seems to know where to be. He has quick hands and feet and plays with high confidence.
Jayden Sleeper PG 5’6 Deer Valley
-A diminutive scoring lead guard is a blur. He is one of the quicker freshman PG’s I have viewed. He also has deep 3pt range and he was very consistent with it. He is smart using picks and can fly in the open court. I was told that I needed to watch Sleeper and they were spot on!
