Hornberger took a bigger role in the BTW offense as primary ball handlers Bryce Thompson and Trey Phipps dealt with constant pressure throughout the day. He was able to stay calm, cool and collected, making the right passes at the right time. As a sophomore, his talent level only has room to improve, you should definitely keep an eye on Hornberger.
Jordan Thompson | Southmoore | 2020 | 6’1 | G
Thompson excelled in finding his big man Sam Godwin today at the Elite 14 Showcase. His ability to elevate and pass over and around the defender created multiple opportunities for easy buckets around the rim. Thompson will carry a big role for the Sabercats this year and he is ready to take the role.
Kole Johnson | Putnam City North | 2021 | 5’11 | G
The PCN guard used his speed and agility to get into the paint, creating opportunities for his teammates when the defense collapsed. His vocal leadership helps his team play at a high level and brings an extra intensity to his game. Expect Johnson to bring an extra level of competitiveness to the game each time he steps on the court.
Chris Dees | Amarillo | 2021 | 6’1 | G
Dees’ ability to stay composed in a double team and find the open man was one of the best at the Elite 14 Showcase. He brought leadership and consistency to his team, giving 100% the whole time he was on the court. The comfortability he has with the ball in his hand is something found few and far between, someone you would definitely want on your team.
Mike Miles | Lancaster | 2020 | 6’2 | G
Miles’ energy shows itself consistently each time he walks onto the court. Taking no possessions off on both the offensive and defensive end, he gets the ball moving in transition, creating opportunities for his teammates. With such a high motor and good decision-making skills, Miles will be sure to gain more interest as the season begins.
