Here are some juniors that will make college coaches feel like they’ve found a bargain when shopping for players on the day after Thanksgiving.
Kobe Bufkin (2021, 6’4″, CG, Grand Rapids Christian)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #1
There wasn’t a faster rising prospect in Michigan, or maybe even the midwest. Bufkin has established himself as a top 100 prospect in the country. He’s a smooth shooting lefty that can create his own looks at the rim. Bufkin should have a list of power 5 D1’s seeking his service.
Ty Fortney (2021, 6’8″, PF, Taylor Trillium)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #8
Fortney shot up the rankings after an incredible grassroots season. He’s long and athletic, exploding off the ground even from a standing position. Fortney is a powerful finisher and excels in transition. College coaches need to see one of the top post prospects in the state.
Simon Wheeler (2021, 5’10”, PG, Ypsilanti-Lincoln)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #9
After sitting a year due to transfer rules, Simon Wheeler is ready to shine. College coaches should become reacquainted with him, and quickly. Wheeler is one of the best passers in the state and he plays the game with flare.
Ty Wyman (2021, 6’5″, SG, Blissfield)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #16
If you’re a college coach and haven’t heard of Wyman……trust me. Go see him. At 6’5″, he’s a true shooting guard that can fill it up from deep. Wyman is athletic as well, making him a threat to score in the open floor.
Javantae Randle (2021, 6’9″, PF, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #24
Randle is loaded with potential. College coaches will want to get in early with this post prospect. He can protect the rim with his length. Randle is a strong finisher on offense and can be effective at any pace.
