In this article, we will be taking a look at the Mountain Northwest. MVP and all-conference team selections are based on last season’s production and this season’s potential.
Conference Champs: Desert Pines – In their first season, the Jags dominated the conference going 12-0. The return their top 4 scorers and added 6’7 junior stud, Anthony Swift. They are the clear cut favorites to repeat.
MVP: Alexander Spaight 6’0 PG Canyon Springs (#15 2020) – I think Canyon is going to be better than they were last year, and Spaight will be a huge part. DP has a more balanced attack so I expect most of the scoring to be evenly distributed making it harder for one player to stand out.
Top Unsigned Senior: Alexander Spaight 6’0 PG Canyon Springs (#15)
Top Underclassmen: Milos Uzan 6’3 PG Desert Pines 2022 (#3 2022)
Sleeper: Zarius Benson – Moore 6’4 SG Canyon Springs (#30 2020)
Sleeper Team: Cheyenne – Glenn Taylor leads a talented squad that is poised to make noise in conference.
Game of the year: 2/3/20 Canyon Springs vs Desert Pines– If DP doesn’t run away with it, this could be the game that decides the conference. Canyon has some studs, if they can get production from someone other than their big 3, then things could get interesting.
