With so many different high school programs hosting their own events, it could be a bit difficult to choose from but we are here to attempt to give you a preview of a few you can choose from beginning with Clayton HS. Clayton will be hosting their event this Saturday that will begin at 9am and end about 8pm so let’s dive right in as to who will be in the building.
Clayton of course will be playing in the morning and feature C/O 2021 Guard BJ Freeman who has a nice list of D1 programs that offered and recruiting him pretty hard such as: Penn State, UCF, ECU and Purdue. Freeman is a player that can score the ball at a nice level as well as having a nice amount of versatility that you can put him at multiple positions.
South Johnston 2020 Forward CJ Ray who was named the Conference Player of the Year we will be in the building, looking to showcase his ability once again. Ray is a double/double machine and although he’s a bit undersized for the PF position, he makes up for it with how much energy and effort he plays with.
Granville Central features 2021 Guard Terence Harcum who has been impressive in the first two years of his high school career which has led to him picking up quite a bit of D1 interest. Last season he averaged just under 26 PPG to go along with 5 Assist and 5 Rebounds per contest, while helping to lead his team to a 19-9 record.
Cardinal Gibbons will be a team that is looking for an identity as they lost their leading scorer from last season so don’t be surprised to see 2020 Guard Brady Whilden look to step in and take a larger role. He was the second leading scorer on the squad last year and showed some flashes in certain matchups of how good he can be.
Cary HS will be another team that will be looking to get contributions from other areas as they have lost their leading scorers to graduation and transfer. 6’5 2020 Forward Jared Moore is one of the players that we feel could take another step in production as he was a player that put together some double figure scoring games last season.
Davidson Day put together a nice season last year with an overall record of 20-5 and return a nice amount of talent from that squad. There are several players in this group that we feel could have big time seasons for them which include 2021 Guard Bryce Alfino who has shown the ability to knock down the trey ball as well as defend at a nice level.
