In this piece, we breakdown some players to watch in Division 3AA based on research combined with what we’ve seen in person this fall.
Division 3AA Players to Watch (Part II)
Austin Clark, Glendora
The 6-2 guard made the move from Ayala over to Palomares League-foe Glendora after averaging 17.3 points as a sophomore for the Bulldogs as a sophomore. Clark shot 50 percent from the field overall to go along with 38 percent from 3-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line.
Amado Coleman, Paraclete
Coleman had a huge season for the Spirits as a sophomore, averaging 24.9 points, 10.3 rebounds on 65 percent shooting. The 6-foot-4 junior wing did most of his damage in the painted area and went to the free throw line 262 times in 28 games, good for 9.4 attempts per game.
Andrew Cook, Servite
Cook is one of the more improved all-around players in SoCal’s 2021 class. He averaged 7.8 points per game as a sophomore for the Friars, but his improved shot creating and making abilities will definitely help that average go up.
Servite junior shooting guard Andrew Cook is primed for a break out season for the Friars.Isaac Deedon, Hart
There are few better spot shooters than Deedon. The 6-foot junior doesn’t need much time or space to get his shot off, knows how to move without the ball and set up screens to get open and has deep range with a quick trigger.
Lucas Kravitz, Laguna Beach
Kravitz is the beneficiary of playing in one of the most difficult offenses to guard for 32 minutes. Laguna Beach doesn’t have an immense amount of size, length and athleticism, but they beat up on teams between the ears. Kravitz was second on the Breakers’ team in scoring at 10.9 points per game as a junior and can fill it up with the perimeter jumper.
Slater Miller, Ocean View
The Seahawks graduated their top four scorers from last season, so they will go as far as Miller will take them. The 6-foot-5, 195-pound swingman put up respectable numbers as a sophomore with 7.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, but Ocean View will need him to take his game up a level if it expects to win another Golden West League crown.
Tajavis Miller, Servite
Few 2022 prospects have helped themselves more over the spring, summer and fall than Miller. The 6-foot-3 sophomore is looking to build upon an impressive freshman campaign that saw him average 10.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Miller will be the leader and catalyst on both ends of the floor for the Friars this season.
