Dunn has hit the ground running and we are not surprised at all, he’s a highly skilled player that has a nice IQ for the game and allows himself to be coached. VCU and UTEP have already offered but they clearly won’t be the last as he will only get better over the next two years.
Lumberton HS Senior Guard Jordan McNeill made history on Tuesday night as he became the leading scorer in LHS history while dropping 28 points and pulling down 9 rebounds. We got the chance to watch him since his freshman year and this doesn’t surprise us much at all, he plays with a high motor and is one of the better rebounding guards that you will see.
Dixon HS Senior Guard Everett Lewis scored 26 points to lead Dixon HS to a win over Jones HS on Tuesday night. Lewis had a successful season last year and seems to be picking up right where he left off, he has the ability to score from multiple levels on the court as well as making plays above the rim. D3 programs have been showing a high amount of interest in him and we believe he can go into one of those programs and contribute right away.
Granville Central Junior Guard Terrance Harcum is at it again, as he finished with a whopping 38 points and 10 rebounds last night. This should come as no surprise to anybody that has watched him over the years as he has put together quite a few 30+ games for his squad. He plays the game with a high amount of effort but also has a nice overall IQ, which shows in various ways, including his passing and finding different angles to score.
The Farmville Central backcourt duo didn’t waste any time before getting going as Justin Wright went for 24 Points, while Terquavion Smith went for 27 Points. The scary part is that this is just the first game of the season for this squad so you can fully expect them to only get better as the weeks go on. Wright has already signed with NCCU and is a player that will go into the program and have an early impact, while Smith has committed to NC State, a program that has been tremendous in keeping guys in state.
Durham Academy Sophomore Sensation MJ Rice continued his high level of play as the squad knocked off Voyager last night. Rice would score 22 points and pull down 6 boards for his team, increasing their impressive start to the season with a record of 7-0. We love the aggression and physicality that he plays with, as well as the way he has developed his outside shooting over the past year, which only makes him that much more difficult to defend.
In the first two games of their season Pinecrest HS Junior Guard Bradlee Haskell has been putting up nice numbers, averaging over 20 PPG. He has impressive end to end speed as well as outstanding ball handling and passing skills, to go along with the fact that he’s an unselfish and very coachable player. He’s a prospect that D1 programs should be watching closely and has already picked up interest from some LM/MM programs.
