They force turnovers and get out in transition to score a majority of their points. They are a big and athletic team this season with what looks to be a lot of depth down the bench. How that depth will look when the season starts might be different but they played with confidence in the preseason. They have some younger players that if they can get them to play as they did in the BA Showcase then they will be fine. The younger players played with maturity and what looked like knowledge beyond their years.
Players to Watch
Bixby Luke Haas 2023 Bixby Guard
Haas was one of those freshmen that played beyond what you would expect from a freshman. He did not lack confidence as he played physical and attack the basket. He had the ability to get to the rim and is not afraid of contact. He also is not afraid to spot up and take the open jumper when he has it.
Xavier Glenn 2021 Bixby Wing
Glenn is Bixby’s best player. He has athleticism and size and is not afraid to use it. He attacks the basket hard and it is hard to stop him from getting all the way to the rim. Glenn’s all around game was there too. He played sharp defense and went up and grabbed boards with ease. He has a solid shot that if left open he will knock down from mid-range and beyond. Glenn has a lot of potential to be a really good player for the Spartans. If the Spartans want to make a deep run into the playoffs this season they will have to have some big games from Glenn.
Parker Frederickson 2023 Bixby Guard
Frederickson was the other freshmen that held his poise in his first high school action. He played well but shot the ball even better. He is a spot up shooter that finds his spot on the court. He was not phased at all by his first minutes and thrived in the time he saw. Frederickson will be a big boost off the bench this season for the Spartans.
