There are a ton of committed prospects, but still quality group of players that have not found their college homes yet. We will break each group down by position. Here are the Best Available 2020 Point Guards.
Adam Miller (MorganPark)
Overall Rank: #2
Miller is the top prospect remaining on the board by quite a bit. This one is going to come down to the in-state Illini against Arizona out of the Pac 12. Explosive combo guard that can flat out get buckets from all three levels. Co-favorite for Mr. Basketball and among the best guards uncommitted nationally. He will make his decision the day after the early signing period ends on November 21.
Tyler Beard (Whitney Young)
Overall Rank: #10
Beard will not sign during the early period he tells PHI. Many of the high-majors that were once recruiting him have found other options. It seems that Beard will play his senior season out to see what schools want to get involved with Valpo being the only school heavily recruiting him at this stage. Power point guard that attacks downhill and has a sound mid-range game.
Luke Scheffers (St. Charles North)
Overall Rank: #41
Scheffers is a prospect to watch this week as he could potentially make a decision. Northern Illinois has offered along with an array of D2 programs. Easy to see what they like in this floor general with his leadership, knock down shooting, and decision making as a passer.
Davis Walker (Home School)
Overall Rank: #42
Walker is a power combo guard that showed with RWA on the travel team circuit that he could play both on and off the ball. Tough kid that shoots it with deep range on his three point shot.
Taaj Davis (Aurora Christian)
Overall Rank: #49
Davis is a lefty point guard that throws daggers from beyond the three point arc. Deep range on his jumper both pulling up and off the catch. Sound passer that pushes with speed in transition and is a tough on ball defender.
Alex Wood (Normal U-High)
Overall Rank: #64
Wood is a high IQ guard that makes others around him better. On the travel team circuit with Y&R he is more of a distributor looking to set others up in positions to succeed. Can also score it in bunches as he displays with his high school team.
Grant Niego (Lyons)
Overall Rank: #69
Niego is a point guard that gets others involved with his passing and can make shots. Works well around ball screens and can shoot it from three off the catch.
Jashawn Anderson (East St. Louis)
Overall Rank: #71
Anderson was the guy that pushed ESL to a title last season. He is a small guard, but uses his speed in the open floor and can knock down shots!
Reggie Strong (Orr)
Overall Rank: #72
Strong missed most of the travel team circuit. Tough and scrappy left handed combo guard that has wiry strength. Defensive presence that should make an impact at Orr this year.
Trey Davis (St. Laurence)
Overall Rank: #91
Davis is a smaller point guard that can really shoot the basketball from three. We saw him do it as a junior and then again this summer with his high school team.
Christian Czerniak (St. Charles North)
Overall Rank: #98
Creative playmaker with the basketball in his hands. The St. Charles North point guard plays with flair passing and hitting shots.
