In front of a nice crowd, the Flame took down Potter’s House 92-61 in a game that they controlled from the jump.
Here is a look at five takeaways from the evening.
Miguel is hard to slow down
21 of 32 points for 2020 6’5″ guard Selton Miguel came in the first half as he accounted for 43 percent of his team’s points in that span. He did it all, connecting on three 3’s, attacking at will. He draws contact, creates for others and has a strong lower body that helps him elude defenders and simply win 1-on-1 battles often. The Kansas State commit had a dunk on the opening play of the game. The sky is the limit for Miguel.

Tracey is a welcomed addition to West Oaks
Coming from Riverdale, 2020 6’6″ guard Jadrian Tracey had a slow start in his West Oaks debut but he proved to be a valuable asset. He’s a 1B to Miguel’s 1A and got more aggressive as the game went on and he figured out the game flow. Tracey had 16 points including 11 in the second half alone. As he plays more, the better he’ll get in this offense. He’s communication is already making everyone better. Fellow 2020 6’5″ guard AJ Staton finished with four points but will be dangerous in lengthy guard trio that is Miguel, Tracey and him.
Mayoum and Pete are dynamic guards
2020 6’4″ guard Mayoum Mayoum and 2020 6’3″ guard Rodney Pete combined for 37 points for Potter’s House. Mayoum scored 16 of his team-high 23 points in the second half. He is a crafty ballhandler, who can weave pass defenses and finish from deep or at the rack. Pete paced him well with some nice mid-range looks and drives to the rack. Both seniors will have to carry this backcourt.
Neal and Bigord can flat out shoot
8-of-12 3’s made on the night came from 2021 6’1″ guard AJ Neal (four 3’s and 16 total points) and 2020 6’6″ guard Carl Bigord (four 3’s and 12 total points). Neal got hot as the game went on and was finding openings in the Potter’s House defense. Miguel hit him in stride with a few really nice feeds. Bigord was lethal from deep and will serve a very nice role alongside Neal as a reliable spot-up shooter.
Harris is a good piece for Potter’s House
I like the way 2020 6’7″ forward Brandon Harris performed for Potter’s House. The lengthy wing came off the bench and immediately hit tough mid-range shots to record 10 points. He was attacking and moving the ball around. In time, the Elon commit will be a consistent threat for the Lions.
