Nicholas Wilson – Lumen Christi
Taking a look at Vandercook season last year as a freshman Wilson stepped in and made some big plays for the Jayhawks off the bench. Wilson hit the scene this AAU season gaining some interest from college coaches due to his effort and selfless play. Wilson’s quickness and elite defense makes him a candidate for this award. Wilson recently transferred to Jackson Lumen Christi where he is looking to make immediate impact.
Clayton Currie – Jackson
The Senior looks to capitalize in his final year as he has flown under the radar his high school career. With Currie having limited playing time last year, when granted the opportunity Currie stepped in hitting a variety of 3’s for the Vikings last year as he has unlimited range. The shifty Senior lands a top spot as an early MIP candidate.
Daivion Lindeman – Jackson
The 6’4” forward will have to step in for the Vikings this year and make an early impact. Lindeman is a versatile forward that can stretch the floor for the Vikings. Being able to step out and knock down the deep ball while also being able to be a rim protector for the varsity squad this year. Lindeman with his style of play and high ceiling could easily be a frontrunner for this award.
Jacob Buckland – East Jackson
the 6’4 forward had a breakout year in the grassroots circuit this summer, Buckland has in the gym range which makes him unguardable in a lot of situation. The sophomore started last year for the Trojans was also a rim protector for the varsity squad with a breakout summer in the grassroots circuit gaining a lot of interest in the college scene, a major breakout year could be on the horizon for the sophomore.
Trey Cottingham– Western
Cottingham’s comfort on the perimeter coined him as a versatile and sharpshooting guard last season, as a sophomore Cottingham helped push the Panthers over tough teams last season. The Junior guard averaged double digits last year for the varsity squad as a sophomore with more minutes and a larger role this upcoming year could get him into the MIP conversation.
