Pre-Season Top Five
1. Western Christian
2. Toledo
3. Santiam
4. Oakland
5. Columbia Christian
Analysis: With most of its roster back (including returning co-Player of the Year Payton Richardson) from last year’s title team, it’s hard not to envision Western Christian as the favorite to repeat. High-scoring Toledo will challenge though and while Columbia Christian lost several kids to transfer, they’ll still be a threat.
All-State Predictions
Payton Richardson, Western Christian (POY)
Conner Marchart, Toledo
Colton Brownson, Oakland
Zach Young, Monroe
Alex Nicoli, Western Christian
Jalen Lampman, Lakeview
Analysis: The returning 2A co-Player of the Year as a junior, Richardson should be the favorite to capture the award again this time all by himself before he heads on to Seattle Pacific. Several guys that would have been seniors in this class have transferred up to higher classes, but there are a few potential small college guys still around, notably Lampman, who has already signed with OIT.
