MALCOLM DREAD | GONZAGA (DC) ’21
Since his freshman year, Dread has found his way onto the court as a result of his ability to defend on the wing. This year, his role as a wing defender could be more important than ever. Expect Dread to once again draw the opposing team’s best perimeter player on a given night and look to make an impact defensively.
TJ GADSDEN | ST. ANDREW’S (MD) ’21
Gadsden, an athletic 6-foot-6 forward, will add size and versatility to the Lions’ front-court. He could play a key factor in the team’s success with his inside-out scoring and rebounding.
ARIEL GODDOT | BISHOP IRETON (VA) ’21
Ireton doesn’t have a true post player, but Goddot has been admirably filled in as a reliable go-to option with his back to the basket. He has quietly produced consistent numbers over the years and we expect that trend to continue.
AARON JASPER | ST. MARY’S RYKEN (MD) ’21
Jasper, a 6-foot-2 guard, can stuff the stat sheet. His ability to defend at a high-level on a perimeter while making smart decisions with the ball in his hands could prove vital to Ryken’s hopes of competing.
MANNY OJO | OSBOURN (VA) ’21
Ojo is not your standard glue guy given the fact that he is the best player on his team. Standing at 5-foot-6, he is lightning quick and can control the game on either end of the court. Ojo is a tenacious defender both on and off the ball and can score in bunches when he wants to.
JAROD ROBINSON | GLENELG COUNTRY (MD) ’20
Robinson will be an important contributor on the wing for the Dragons. Listed at 6-foot-3, he has long limbs which help make him an effective perimeter defender. Robinson is also a capable standstill shooter who likes to get out and run.
JAHARI SIMON | ELEANOR ROOSEVELT (MD) ’20
Simon will be asked not only to space the floor with his dead-eye shooting but to play solid team defense. Those are two things he has done well in the past and should continue to do moving forward.
NURIDEEN TAYLOR | CLARKSBURG (MD) ’21
Taylor, a 6-foot-2 lefty, will be asked to make a consistent impact on both ends for the Coyotes. He should comfortably exceed expectations given his ability to defend on the perimeter, score in transition, and knockdown spot-up threes.
BRYCE WALKER | PALLOTTI (MD) ’20
Walker will likely adopt an important role in his first year at Pallotti. A good athlete who can defend and score, Walker’s potential impact could prove pivotal for the Panthers’ success.
ALEX WILLIAMS | MARET (DC) ’20
Williams, a very good three-point shooter, is also a capable perimeter defender who will have an important role as a senior. The Frogs should benefit from his overall experience and leadership intangibles.
