SG Jay Scrubb (John A Logan – Sophomore)
Scrubb displayed why he is the best junior college prospect in recent memory. He won off the dribble absolutely at will. Did it going both right and left. Crisp ball handler that gets where he wants on the floor with an initial burst that is impressive. In transition it was a dunk show as he played above the rim all day long. What stood out was how he was able to score equally effectively in both the half court and in an up and down setting. Did hit a few threes and pull ups, but the shot was a little up and down throughout the day. Shoots a good ball though with sound form and balance. Defensively he moved his feet on the perimeter and even took multiple charges. Got in passing lanes for steals. Threw a couple full court outlets on the money for assists. Committed to Louisville if he makes it there instead of going to the NBA.
SF Trace Young (John A Logan – Sophomore)
Young is a prospect we are still trying to figure out. The long and rangy lefty has a ton of physical tools that intrigue. The Wyoming transfer is a high level athlete that plays above the rim. Showed a burst attacking off the bounce from the mid-post area. Hit a sweet turnaround fade away out of the post. High pointed rebounds. Like what he brings defensively with his awareness and length.
SF Kevin Osawe (Vincennes – Sophomore)
Osawe won MVP of the JUCO final four last year leading Vincennes to the championship. We came away very impressed with what this 6’6” small forward brought to the table. High level shot maker that has a feathery jump shot. One of those shots that every time if came off his hands you thought it was going in. Such a feathery stroke both pulling up and off the catch. Rebounds very well for his position high pointing them on the defensive end. Smooth athlete that was good defensively being able to guard threes and smaller fours. High-major prospect!
SG Colton Sandage (Vincennes – Sophomore)
Sandage is a prospect we have seen quite a bit during his career playing his prep ball at Bloomington. He has always been an elite level shooter. That continued on Sunday as Sandage drilled almost every three he took that we saw. Quick and concise stroke from three off the catch. Also mixed in several mid-range jumpers and pull ups. I came away impressed with the improvements in his ball handling.
SG CE Talton (Olney Central – Freshman)
Talton put himself on our radar last December in high school. Smooth two guard that brings length to the table. He handles it well and moves well without the ball. Just scratching the surface of his potential with such a smooth offensive game.
SG Adrian Baugh (Olney Central – Freshman)
Long and lanky freshman came off the bench to display a feathery jump shot. Hit several threes with a wet jumper!
SF Nick Walker (Olney Central – Sophomore)
Walker is a good sized and strong small forward that was productive. The active wing hit the offensive glass for put backs and played physical on drives.
SG Keyyaun Batchman (Mineral Area – Freshman)
Batchman is a St. Louis product that we are well familiar with from his high school days. The lefty is a shot maker that knocked down some big shots for Mineral Area including one that sent the game to 2 OT. Strong two guard that can shoot it and take a bump at the rim in transition.
SG Tristen Mullins (Mineral Area – Freshman)
Mullins was intriguing with his length and ability to knock down mid-range jump shots. Like the potential here to monitor moving forward.
SG Armon Brummett (Danville – Sophomore)
Brummett was a star at Decatur MacArthur. After transferring from Bradley to Danville for his sophomore season he looks to be the go to guy for this squad. Plays with a lot of intensity on both ends and can score off the dribble with his combination of strength and athleticism.
SG Zavon Godwin (Schoolcraft – Sophomore)
Godwin is a high level athlete that has size at 6’5”. Had a few bouncy dunks, but his perimeter jumper was what jumped off the court hitting a few deep threes and also elevated from the mid-range to knock down shots.
SG Charles Campbell Jr. (Parkland – Sophomore)
Campbell is another JUCO sophomore that was impressive with his raw athleticism. Explosive in transition and was fouled several times on drives. Did hit a three.
SG Derek Emelifeonwu (Aspire Prep – 2020)
Productive two guard that flat out got buckets. He was aggressive and tough attacking the basket where he finished well at the cup. Also had a nice cross that he went into a pull up.
SF David Tubek (Apsire Prep – 2022)
Tubek has excellent size at 6’8” with the ability to play either forward spot. Liked him in the transition game running the floor. At times he was a bit wild with the ball, but the physical tools are captivating. Defensively he covered ground laterally with his length and blocked a couple shots.
