The first group that we want to take a look at is the Assist leaders, a group of PG’s that displayed outstanding vision/passing last season and during the summer.
Winston-Salem Christian 2021 Guard Aaron Potter: He was the Assist leader in the state last season at 8.5 APG, so don’t be surprised to see that number jump to double digits. His ability to score the ball is something that you have to appreciate as well as he averaged 14 PPG.
Scotland Christian 2021 Guard Brodie Clark: He has proven himself against all types of competition over the past few months and we expect another big time season from him. He’s a dual threat guard that scores the ball very well but is also and unselfish player, which you can see by his 8 Assist per game.
Washington HS 2020 Guard Rashod Smith: He makes the move from Northside-Pinetown to Washington HS but will bring the same scoring and facilitating that we saw the last few years. His vision and ability to put passes on time and on target is very impressed which showed in the stat book as he averaged 6.7 APG last year which placed him at #11 in the state.
Holly Springs 2020 Guard Marcus Elliot: This team will have a different look as they had a few players graduate but Marcus is one that we know will play a big role. Last season he was #13 in the state in Assist with 6.6 per game, he not only was responsible for finding teammates but also defending the opposing team PG.
Greensboro Day 2021 Guard Brock Williams: It always different when you have a player that averages just under 35 PPG also being a top 20 player in the state as far as Assist goes. Well, that’s exactly the case for Brock and we are excited to see how he adjust to things with a new role at GDS this season.
