Sammy Anderson (2020) | 6-2 G | Trotwood
A three-star football recruit, Anderson’s cornerback skills are exhibited on the hardwood. His hips and ability to change directions to stay in front is an elite asset. He’s balanced and physical, often legally knocking ball-handlers off-balance with pressure. Quick and strong hands. Anderson also races for loose balls and plays with energy.
Khalil Davis (2020) | 6-1 G | Princeton
Davis is an electrifying athlete who can sit down and stay in front. Consistently makes an impact on help-side, too. Good instincts away from the ball and knows when to fly over to get his hands on the ball for a steal or block. Extremely fast. Cumberlands commit.
Mali Harris-Strayhorn (2020) | 6-3 SF | Beavercreek
Stays wide and low to the ground in his defensive stance. Harris-Strayhorn can swing his hips around rapidly, allowing him to stay in front of shifty and speedy ball-handlers. Active, disruptive arms.
Greg Johnson (2021) | 6-2 G | Princeton
Johnson is destined to play defense on the basketball court. First of all, he’s remarkably fluid. He gets around screens and hardly breaks strides. Johnson also squeezes into tight areas because he can contort his body. Freaky speed and lateral quickness. He tops off those physical tools with a tireless motor. Causes so many deflections.
Nate Johnson (2021) | 6-2 PG | Lakota East
Remarkably versatile defender at 6-foot-2. Johnson has length, a wide frame with bulk, and is explosive off the floor. Provides rebounding in traffic. Stays in front with his lateral quickness. Defends with his chest and absorbs contact. Good hands.
Anthony McComb (2021) | 6-2 SG | Thurgood Marshall
Wiry athlete with growth potential and immense speed. McComb also affects the game with his length, which makes it hard for small guards to be effective passers. Aggressive shot-blocker who can close on help-side in a hurry. Plus-rebounder.
Will McCracken (2021) | 6-4 SF | Moeller
McCracken is a fearless and active athlete who bounces around the floor and always seems to be involved in the play. Very quick laterally and stays wide in his stance. Rebounds in traffic with bounce and physicality. Equally effective in jumping passing lanes as he is staying in front as an on-ball defender.
Paul McMillan IV (2022) | 6-1 PG | Cincinnati Woodward
Rare instance where a go-to scorer is also his team’s premier defender. Both McMillan’s hands and feet are phenomenally quick. Plays on the balls of his feet. Beats guys to the spot because of that speed and his elite instincts. Remains engaged throughout the game.
DeAirius Randle-Barker (2020) | 6-0 PG | Princeton
Randle-Barker has long arms and athleticism. His understanding of where to be, though, may be his greatest asset. Disciplined point guard who reads the other team well and pounces when he sees a turnover opportunity.
Brady Uhl (2020) | 6-1 SG | Alter
Powerful athlete with an endless amount of energy. Uhl throws opponents off their games with his in-your-face, physical style. Chases balls down and rebounds well for his size. Disruptive.
