Modesto Christian (Modesto CA) This team was missing it’s leader Michael Pearson a 5’9 Pt guard 2020 who always seems to score buckets when the game is on the line, Baljot Sahi 6’0 2020 (Stanislaus St) a sharp shooter who knocks down open shots, and Jaden Phillips 6’5 2021 a transfer who brings an all round game. With those players missing at this event. Alex Merkviladze 6’8 2020 was a solid performer. He’s been consistent around the basket for a while now. He provides presence in the paint, he doesn’t mind the contact and his foot work and body control has improved and he’s been working on his 3pt shooting. He will hit the boards. Miles Clayton 6’7 2021 transfer will look to establish his game with this team. He’s a versatile prospect at 6’7 who can handle the ball in open court and has good court vision. Alex Argandar 6’1 2022 a steady ball handler and good passer adds depth and Oziyah Sellers 6’2 2022 a good looking prospect whose going to attract some attention with his shooting and overall play. I look forward to seeing this team when all the pieces are together.
Weston Ranch (Stockton CA) This team will make some noise before its all over. Jordan Johnson 6’6 2020 transfer is a legitimate post area prospect who can handle his business in the post, he’s hard to guard. He’s got a good face up and attack move. He rebounds and runs the floor. He’s going to open things up for a team that returns 4 starters. Gavin Wilburn 6’3 2020 guard is going get a little more freedom to roam the perimeter and attack, his shooting is improved and he will do a good playing the post area. He’s a good rebounding guard who can lead the transition break. Donjae’ Lindsey 6’2 2021 his game continues to improve, he’s more aggressive on the offensive end and is finishing strong in the paint. Mi’Son Coiton 6’1 2021 prospect, a physical guard seems to be more confident playing with this group. He’s a big body guard who can bully his way into the paint for buckets or dump it off to Johnson for the finish. He’s knocking down long 3’s, and will help on the boards. Titas Haley 5’8 2020 Pt guard is as steady as they go, plays unselfish basketball and gets the ball to the right players for baskets. Steady on ball defender.
Jesuit (Carmichael CA) Isa Silva 6’3 2021 A top ranked Nor Cal prospect that displays a good understanding of the game, consistent scoring with the 3pt shot, good passing skills. Silva will do his part, but he’s going to need some help from Chris Holly 5’11 2021 a speedy guard who can hit the mid range, and knock down 3’s. (Branden Rutherford 6’2 2021) DNP football. Jesuit has 6’11 Olecksandr Huriak 2020 might surprise some with his play. A late Bloomer.
Brookside Christian (Stockton CA) This small school in Stockton has Geronimo Rubio-De La Cruz 6’2 combo guard who commands attention. He does everything this team needs him to do. Score, run the point, knock down big shots when they need one. One of Nor Cal’s top 2021 prospects. He’s got a big man in Ronnie Ray 6’6 2020 a long wiry prospect who’s still developing his skill set, but can guard bigs, change shots, rebound and score in the paint. He will improve as the season progresses. They can do well in the lower divisions.
Vanden (Fairfield CA) The best player 6’5 2020 Teano Hardee (Sacramento St) was missing in action for this event. Rising 2022 Takai Emerson Hardee 6’5 showed why he’s going to command attention. A solid performer inside, he attacks well from the high post, he can move out and hit the 3 at the top of the key, and he rebounds. Vandens backcourt consists of Jaques Jones 5’8 2020 and Isaac Montgomery 5’10 2021, two aggressive guards who love to attack the basket. Omari Davis 6’1 2021 can be a factor with his 3pt shooting and passing.
