JOHN AWOKE | 6’2 G | ANNANDALE ’23
Awoke is still very young, but plays a mature brand of basketball. One of his best attributes is his defense. Awoke has the ability to guard the opposing team’s best perimeter player without fouling as we saw in Annandale’s win over Chancellor. He also gets downhill aggressively, sees the floor well and keeps the defense off-balance with his ability to score inside the arc or facilitate for others.
GIBRALTAR COLEMAN | 6’5 F | WEST SPRINGFIELD ’22
Coleman has a big body with which he sets good screens, carves out space inside, and absorbs contact. He is a competent scorer with his back to the basket but also has expanding face-up skills. Coleman demonstrates good touch around the basket which indicates that he could potentially develop a more consistent perimeter jump shot.
KEYSHAWN JOHNSON | 6’2 G | FAIRMONT HEIGHTS ’20
Johnson is a talented shot-maker who can create space at will. He is very good in transition where he gets into the lane and can finish with either hand in traffic. Johnson showed moxie by scoring several key points down the stretch to help Fairmont Heights defeat Hylton in a hard-fought contest.
MANNY OJO | 5’6 PG | OSBOURN ’21
Ojo sets the tone on the defensive end. He’s a super quick and pesky guard who defends with tenacity on the ball but remains active and alert in help situations. Ojo is a skilled playmaker who can consistently beat the first man and create easy looks for his teammates when the help arrives. He’s also able to knock down shots from the perimeter in any situation.
MEKHI WASHINGTON | 6’4 F | CENTREVILLE ’21
Washington is a lanky forward who can stretch the floor from three or get to the rim off the bounce. Washington is sneaky athletic. He is able to catch lobs and finish through contact. He has the potential to be a very good defender given his quick reactions and anticipation skills.
