A tough list to make, but here is the first and second team for the MSL Ohio!
First Team:
Brian Collier (6’0” / PG 2020 / Grandview Heights): Collier will once again be a major scoring factor for the Bobcats this season. A player that can go out and burry a team with his sweet shooting from deep, or even get to the basket when he wants to, added strength is big there for him. The senior was second in the league and scoring last year and figures to be up there again. Don’t be surprised to see the guard hit the 20 mark average this season.
Damian Davis (5’10” / G 2020 / Bexley): Davis is an underrated guard in the 2020 class, but he can go. Averaged 12 points a game last year, but expect to see a nice boost in production from the senior. Had a solid summer that should carry over as well. Davis could be one of the more improved players in the conference. Consistency from deep could really take his game over the top.
DJ Moore (6’3” / G 2022 / Worthington Christian): The easy pick for player of the year in the MSL-Ohio is DJ Moore. Growing a couple inches since last high school season Moore will be an even tough matchup. Leading the conference in scoring as a freshman and will do so once again. Moore can shoot it, get to the hoop and work off the ball better than the majority. The Warriors will be even more improved and should benefit their star sophomore a ton.
Troy Scowden (6’7” / PF 2022 / Buckeye Valley): The MSL will have a new face to deal with, well a few. One of them being Troy Scowden, a sophomore big with huge upside for the Barons. A double-double target that can run the floor and is athletic. Moves well and can stretch the floor a bit. Needs to improve strength so he can better dominate and inside game, but Scowden is one of the best prospects in the league. Threat in transition, plays above the rim and blocks shots with a long reach.
Luke Lachey (6’6” / PF 2020 / Grandview Heights): Lachey is a high major football commit, but that doesn’t stop him from being a major factor on the hardwood. Another player that will be up there in scoring as well as rebounding is the lengthy senior. A walking double-double at all times, it’s not hard to see why he had a division l basketball offer as well. Lachey can play the four or five as he’s super athletic, one of the best bigs in Central Ohio.
Second Team:
Derrick Hardin – Worthington Christian
Carter Warstler – Columbus Academy
Dylan Herbert – Buckeye Valley
Tyler Kindberg – Worthington Christian
Royal Sibly – Whitehall
