Keep an eye on these players this season, also sleepers could appear, as we all know.
First Team:
Otto Kuhns (6’3” / WG 2020 / Bloom-Carroll): Otto Kuhns is coming into the season off a solid senior season of football. Last winter he averaged 22 points a game for Bloom Carroll and was the heart and soul of that team. Not much changes this year, expect him to once again go off. Shooters shoot and that’s exactly what Otto will do at a high rate. Expect the senior to be among the top in the area in scoring and be the best player in the MSL-Buckeye.
Riely Weiss (6’0” / G 2020 / Teays Valley): Riely is a three sport prospect that has strong athleticism, a testament to being a multi sport athlete. The second leading scorer for Teays Valley last year, that looks to be a go to guy for them this season. Expect a big senior season from Weiss as Teays valley has aspirations for a league title once again this coming winter.
Riley Gibson (6’0” / PG 2021 / Circleville): Circleville lost a lot of games last year but they sure do have a college prospect in Riley Gibson. You could notice added strength for the junior and he’s finishing inside more fluid. Gibson can handle the ball or spot up from deep. Was really solid as a sophomore scoring the ball at a high clip. Expect his numbers to go up across the board. A no brainer for first team once again.
Chase Poston (6’4” / SF 2020 / Fairfield Union): Poston is a Malone commit that can flat out play. Fairfield Union is set to have a good season this winter and they will be led by their 6-4 senior. Poston fills lanes and lets it fly from deep where he has precision at. A secondary ball handler who can get to the basket and finish. A candidate to be the most improved player from last season for sure.
Isaac Ward (5’9” / G 2021 / Logan Elm): Isaac Ward will be Logan Elm’s go to guy this season without a doubt. Averaging 14 points a game the last couple years, Ward is set to show the league his scoring ways once again this season. Noted as probably the best shooter in the league, he’ll let it fly a ton this season. Ward plays the game with a strong nose and plays smart. First Team lock.
Possible breakout players
Gabe Chalfin – Logan Elm
Adam Benschoter – Teays Valley
Jared Rose – Bloom-Carroll
Ryan Magill – Fairfield Union
