We are starting to see more orange and red across the landscape while the weather is starting to cool. While the fall is a season of change in Michigan, it’s also a season in which we begin to see a lot of the changes made in basketball players’ games. In the fall we will start see to see the culmination of the hard work athletes put in during the spring and summer.
Isaac Warning (2020, 6’5″, PF, Kenowa Hills)
Warning has gone from a sort of tweener to a powerful force under the bucket. He’s an excellent rebounder and can score off plays run to him or put back buckets. Warning has turned himself into a legitimate college prospect.
Jacob Tomsich (2020, 6’0″, CG, H.H. Dow)
Tomsich has always been a great shooter, but now he is so much more. He’s a better ball handler which has allowed him to create his own looks. Tomsich has developed the ability to step in as a point guard as well.
Mike Robinson (2020, 6’6″, F, Ann Arbor Huron)
Robinson is an elite athlete that can get up and down the floor. His willingness to get coached has helped him drastically improve his all around game. Robinson will be one of the best defensive forwards in the SEC.
Javantae Randle (2021, 6’9″, PF, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Randle has made significant strides. He will be a force on the defensive end with his length and ability to protect the rim. Randle has an incredibly high ceiling and will continue to shine as Detroit Frederick Douglass challenges for a state title.
Lucas Lyyski (2020, 6’7″, SF, Spring Lake)
Lyyski is oozing potential and saw a lot of that turn into bona fide skill during grassroots season. He’s a matchup nightmare due to his size and versatility. Lyyski will be fielding calls from college coaches all winter.
Cooper Fairman (2022, 6’3″, G/F, Saline)
Fairman has really worked successfully at establishing an identity. He’s improved all aspects of his perimeter game. Fairman is a better shooter, more dangerous off the dribble, and has increased his basketball IQ.
Nate Claerbaut (2021, 6’10”, C, Zeeland East)
Claerbaut has become a truly elite post player in Michigan’s 2021 class. He has solid footwork and an impressive finesse game. Claerbaut is also strong enough to throw his body around in the paint.
Nick Branton (2020, 6’8″, C, South Lyon East)
Branton is one of the fastest rising senior prospects. A spring and summer working with Coach Ebbs turned Branton from an interesting post player to a skilled big that is coveted by college coaches. Branton gained speed off the floor and is a quick and strong finisher.
