Continue ReadingJunior star Isaiah Jones (East Nashville) recently picked up an offer from Kentucky State. It can be precarious to call one school or program better than another. While Kentucky State is a decent enough Division II program, the Thoroughbreds have only finished above .500 three times since 2011.
Isaiah Jones will add more offers in the coming 14ish months before he MUST sign.
“(I am taking a) visit with Kentucky State on the 26th,” shared Isaiah Jones October 18th.
Jones is currently PrepHoopsTN #18 in the deepest high school recruiting class in our website’s history (2017-2019 so far).
The 6-foot-6 shooter will take an unofficial to Tennessee State University November 5th. The newish staff of TSU Tigers features four players from Tennessee: Mark Freeman (Southwind), Carlos Marshall (Southwind), Donnie Malone (Antioch), Jy’lan Washington (Stewarts Creek).
Carlos Marshall led Southwind High to a 32-7 record and second-place in the Class AAA.
Look for Isaiah Jones to be scheduling a Lipscomb unofficial shortly. The Bison coaching staff continues to keep in touch with Jones. That is not a program consistently hunting Metro Nashille players. He is drawing unique and disparate attention.
As of early October, Isaiah maintained budding interest from Georgia Tech, Oral Roberts, Kentucky State, and the aforementioned Lipscomb.
Jaylen Jones
Unrelated to Isaiah’s recruitment, yet still noteworthy, Jones’ younger brother is a fantastic young player. East Nashville’s Head Coach Avery Patton comfortably declared him a starter for the first game of his sophomore season. Jaylen is shorter, but more explosive laterally than the wonderfully shooting Isaiah. They will both start and the challenge will be to combat the transfer-infused Pearl-Cohn team.
