Recruiting Report: Mark Rachic (2021)
Often times in a camp setting, players overcomplicate things in an attempt to stand out, and it fails miserably. Mark Rachic, a class of 2021 guard from Calvert High School, did the exact opposite. He kept things simple, controlled things that were in his control, and thrived as a result. The 6-foot-2 junior, who finds a myriad of ways to impact the game while out on the court, described his overall game and much more during a recent interview with Prep Hoops.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your overall game?
MR: “I’m a facilitator first. I drive, like to get my teammates open, but if defenders back off I can hit the three.”
PH: What are you doing on the court that won’t show up on the stat sheet?
MR: “Hustle. Defensive tips. Getting back on defense. Working for loose balls.”
PH: You’re always talking while on the court. Why is that so important to you?
MR: “No one else does it. If I keep talking, everyone is going to know what’s going on. It helps us keep the tempo up, get fast breaks and extra points.”
PH: Who is currently standing out in your recruitment?
MR: “Millersville and Marymount.”
PH: What are your goals?
MR: “To play college ball and get a medical degree.”
