However, some seniors continue to pick up offers. As well as juniors and underclass players! High school season is super close, which means less talk and more on-court play.
Recent offers:
Conner Maciag – Pickerington Central – Urbana offered – I recently stated that Division ll schools have been interested, as Urbana has pulled the trigger. Maciag is a two-way guard that can work with or without the ball in his hands. The senior can shoot it or finish around the cup with no problem. Also, has a mid range jumper in his bag where he can stop on a dime. I expect to see the other area Division ll programs offer before long.
Jalin Billingsley – Lutheran East – West Virginia offered – Huge fan of this offer, and what Bob Huggins continues to do in recruiting. If he thinks a guy is good and fits the team, he offers and it doesn’t matter who has offered them. Billingsley is one of the states best bigs and has shown why. The Junior is versatile and can play inside or with the ball in his hand. Bright bright future, high majors are interested.
Joshua Whiteside – St. Charles – Miami (OH) offered – Whiteside will be a player with a lot of interest in the 2022 class. A big that plays both ends and competes, it isn’t hard to see why he picked up another Division l offer from the RedHawks. As the sophomores offensive game comes around more, expect that number to continue to go up. On a talented St. Charles team that could help his recruitment as well.
Taquan Simmington – Columbus South – Colby CC & Cuyahoga CC offered – Two JUCO offers for Simmington, a prospect that looks to be the top junior college target in the area. Simmington is probably the most explosive player on both ends that I’ve watched in Central Ohio. The senior really uses his bounce and athleticism to his advantage, converts defense into offense.
Andy Barba – ISA (formerly Benedictine) – Missouri State offered – Barba was one of the top prospects in NEO before reclassifying to 2021 and before that transferring to ISA. We don’t get to cover prep schools a whole lot because of their travel and such. But, it’s fun to keep up with them and see what direction they’re heading in. For instance, Barba is heading in a good one. The crafty scorer can really get it done from all over and colleges already have that noted. In my opinion he has sneaky athleticism that you may not expect. Missouri State has offered, he also took a visit to Rutgers recently. It looks like his recruiting is going to trend up real soon even more.
