Prospect Spotlight: CJ Lee (2022)
Montgomery County has its fair share of talented prospects to watch this year, and CJ Lee will be one of them. The skilled combo-guard from Northwest High School was one of the best underclassmen we saw at the Top 250 Expo last month and could be in for a true breakout season.
“I can do everything,” Lee said during a recent interview with Prep Hoops. “I can get my teammates involved, I can score. I play defense, I do whatever helps the team win.”
Lee mentioned that he’s working on his ability to score off the dribble. He hit 20 threes during his freshman season which proves that he can shoot the ball. The fact that Lee is continuing to work on his ball-handling and shooting indicates that this number could rise significantly.
“My goals are to win, help my team, get better every day, and to get a D1 scholarship,” he said.
It’s still too early to determine exactly how good Lee can be given the fact that he is still just a sophomore, but the early signs have been positive and he appears to be on the right track. We will learn a great deal about him over the course of the next few months, but he’s already looking like one of the better prospects Montgomery County has to offer.
CJ Lee is currently ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-40 prospect in his class. To view the full ranking of Maryland and DC’s 2022 class, click here.
