Coming off a Sophomore season where Robinson played a bench role, Blake is expecting the momentum from a strong AAU season to carry him into the high school season. Blake described his offensive game as one that thrives in fast pace. He told me he plays “hard, tough defense” and is a capable shooter who can also create for his teammates.
Going into his Junior year at Grant, Robinson is relying on his strong work ethic to help him improve his lateral quickness and overall strength to help him become a better player. “Last season I was able to contribute some scoring, rebounding, passing, and defense. I’m looking to lead the team this year.” Blake is coming off a strong AAU season with the Kentucky Defenders. He told me, “This past AAU season was great. I finished around 14 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds per game and was able to get some noticed. We played against top tier talent.”
With practice starting next week, the Grant County guard has shifted all his focus to the season ahead. Blake told me that his goals for the season are to “make the all district team, all region team, average around a triple double and be in the running for 8th region player of the year.” If Robinson can average around a triple double, he’ll definitely achieve all those goals and more. And if he’s having that type of individual success, then you’ll hear Grant County mentioned as a competitor to get to Rupp Arena in March.
