It was the final day of the Prep Hoops Summer Challenge and Jackson’s team (ABC Young Lions) was facing off against Y&R Brimm. Brimm’s talent eventually prevailed, but Jackson had me intrigued after his great performance. It seemed as if every time I stopped jotting down notes on what the Whitefish Bay guard did well, I was forced to resume my frantic scribbling because he had just completed another impressive task. Despite getting pressured in the backcourt for most of the game, Jackson kept his cool and nearly advanced his team to the next round.
At the end of July, Jackson led the Young Lions to a semifinal birth in a loaded 16U field at the Hard Work Region Finals. Although his team was eventually overpowered by the Minnesota Heat, Jackson did enough to earn his first scholarship offer from South Alabama shortly after.
“I feel like I improved in all aspects of my game whether it be shooting, handling the ball, or playing defense. But I feel that I improved the most mentally as a guard and understanding the game,” Jackson said. The guard averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists as a sophomore at Whitefish Bay. He followed up his great sophomore season with an even better performance on the AAU Circuit.
South Alabama was the first school to offer Jackson a roster spot, but they are not the only school showing interest in the junior. Jackson said that he has been in contact with Winona State, UW-Oshkosh, Western Michigan, and Southern Illinois. He also recently took two unofficial visits to Wisconsin.
Jackson meet his goals during the AAU season. Now, he will look to exceed expectations once again as a junior at Whitefish Bay.
“[My goals are] 1st team all conf, 20+ points per game, and a deep playoff run.”
“I feel what separates me from others is my work ethic and ability to be coachable,” Jackson told PHW. Ranked as the 14th best prospect in Wisconsin’s 2021 class rankings, He has already done plenty to separate himself from his peers. Jayden Jackson’s plans for a great junior season are already afoot.
