Sterling Chapman, 6’4, G, 2021, Campus
Chapman is a talented 2021 guard prospect with a big, athletic frame and an array of skills. He is a natural guard but can also score in the paint, muscle up against an opposing big man and rebound in traffic. He has a nice pull-up jumper off the bounce, can knock down mid-range shots, shoot from distance and likes to attack the basket off the bounce.
Colin Schreiber, 6’3, G, 2021, Salina South
Schreiber is one of several South players poised for a breakout season for the Cougars in 2019-20. Armed with good size for a guard and a well-rounded skill set, Schreiber averaged nearly 10 points per game, 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists last season. Schreiber can shoot the 3 a little, handles it well and can surprise opponents at the defensive end with his length quickness and timing as a shot blocker.
Thomas King, 6’5, G/F, 2020, Campus
An athletic wing player who can do a little bit of everything well, King has some bounce, can finish in transition and can play a variety of positions well. He can knock down outside shots from behind the 3-point arc and can put the ball on the floor and attack off the bounce.
He picked up his first offer from Washburn in June.
Shawn Warrior, 6’4, G/F, 2020, Campus
A versatile, well rounded player, Warrior has an inside-out game as he can score in the paint, defend an opposing big man, rebound and start the break himself. He showcased an improved outside shooting stroke this summer and is a confident 3-point shooter and can play on the perimeter. At last report Warrior held offers from Newman and Mid-America Nazarene.
AJ Johnson, 6’3, F, 2021, Salina South
Also a football standout, Johnson has two years of varsity experience already under his belt on the hardwood. At 6’3, Johnson brings a versatile, well-rounded skill set, able to play an inside-out brand of basketball. He was the Cougars leading scorer last year averaging 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game to go along with two assists and a steal and was an honorable mention All-ACVT selection for his efforts.
