Nick Bonner, 6’2, G, 2020, Derby
Bonner is a strong guard who brings good size, strength and a well-rounded and versatile skill set to the floor. He is coming off a standout offseason running with Kansas MTXE and brings the ability to score in transition and ability to get others involved. He can score in a variety of ways, whether it’s moving without the ball, knocking down open shots or scoring around the basket.
Brenton Burns, 5’10, G, 2021, Hutchinson
With Hutchinson being hit by graduation, the Salthawks will be looking to several youngsters to step their game up this season. Burns had some good varsity moments a year ago, playing good fundamental defense and showing the ability to handle the ball some and attack the basket. He will need to put together a strong junior season for Hutchinson.
Weston Kraus, 6’7, F, 2020, Hutchinson. @BabyGiraffe_20
A long, rangy player, Kraus is still growing into his body and his game. He has a lot of size and length with the ability to alter shots around the basket defensively. A the offensive end of the floor, Kraus is at his best facing the basket and shooting from short distances. He has a consistent shot from the elbow, and is effective shooting short shots along the baseline.
Josh Jordan, 5’11, G, 2021, Salina South
Jordan likes to get out in transition and run the floor where he is terrific on the break finishing chances on the run. He brings good speed and quickness to the floor and forms a tough 1-2 punch in the open court with fellow 2021 guard Devon Junghans.
Quin Stewart, 6’4, PF, 2020, Salina Central
One of the state’s premier football prospects, Stewart brings strength, toughness and the ability to set old fashioned screens, get on the boards and finish around the basket. On the football field he is an athletic tight end and on the hardwood he is a player who does a lot of the dirty work to help his team.
