Dinos Trigonis brought his lauded Pangos Freshman/Sophomore camp down to Dallas on October 5-6. A long with some of the region’s best players those with lesser hype attended as well. This article will be the first of a series of articles that give shine to these freshmen and sophomores set to take high school by storm.
Justin McBride
McBride is a prospect to watch as he enters his freshman year. Listed at 6-5 but looks closer to 6-7 with extremely long arms and legs. Still a bit uncoordinated but that doesn’t stop him from showing a guard like handle and court vision. He managed to get 3 to 5 assists in a camp setting. Mostly used off the ball but with it, he gives a new shade to your offense as a matchup nightmare too big for wings and too agile for bigs.
George Washington
Standing roughly 6 feet has a vertical leap to catch anyone off guard. In fact, He did a few times pillaging rebounds from unsuspecting players waiting for the board. He’s still growing as a ball handler but handles pressure well. Against one of the better defenders at the camp, he managed to stave him off and make plays.
Cason Wallace
Wallace is a powerful 2-guard with dynamic athleticism. He gets off the ground with ease allowing him to make putbacks look easy. He’s strong enough to rebound with elite bigs at this level. A great defender with size and smooth outside stroke.
CJ Booker
This kid embodies heart over height. At just 5 feet tall Booker outperformed larger taller players thanks to his fundamentals and skill. He runs the show and competes on every play with grit and toughness. He attacks the rim and finishes with crafty moves making 11 of his 15 attempts at the rim. His quickness allows him to hound ball handlers.
Brian “BJ” Hooper
Hooper is a sharpshooter. This marksman was hit from the three-point line all weekend. Laser focused with a quick release there was no hesitation in this flawless jumper. High volume and high efficiency is this kid’s bread and butter.
Keyonte George
George didn’t just come back from his freshman year with more skills he came back more explosive. All weekend he wowed everyone in attendance with effortless dunks that shocked everyone. A true three level scorer now with the athleticism that separates the elite talent from the rest.
